Introducing Diesel!

Diesel is an American Staffy x born 26th June 2022.

Diesel was originally taken to another facility as a stray & they immediately started reaching out for help to rescues asking to get him out under duty of care. They had taken him to a vet who immediately put him on antibiotics as his skin was broken & infected. As soon as we saw his photos we reached out offering our assistence. Diesel was underweight but that wasn't our immediate concern.. Diesel's skin was in horrendous condition. He was in such bad condition that every time he moved his skin would tear & bleed. He had scabs all over his body and he was itchy, swollen shut down. We immediately started him on Malaseb baths, gave him a Cytopoint injection to help with the itching, gave him a Bravecto incase he had mites, normal flea, worm & vaccinating. We also started him on paw paw baths & Pyohex leave in conditioner. While Diesel's skin has made great improvements, he still has a long way to go with his rehab.

Since being at the facility, Diesel has been an absolute delight to care for. He's been the perfect patient while treating his skin, he's now turned into a wiggly, happy, smoochy boy. He's very gentle when taking treats.. although if you take too long getting them to him, sometimes he will stand on his back legs and plead with you eye to eye.. Diesel does get excited when on lead, so he can pull at times, however he is non-reactive to other dogs when he walks. Overall, he is an amazing boy, with such a gentle soul and we have all fallen in love with him.

Diesel tested fairly well with other dogs, but he can be a little hard to read at times. While he hasn't shown any signs of aggression, he does show some dominance tendancies where he will stand over the dogs he meets. He's been completely non-reactive when boisterous dogs are jumping towards him or bump into him. As he is a little hard to read & while he's still having skin treatment, we are recommending Diesel be the only dog at home, at least until he had a little more training & socialisation.

Diesel has shown signs of prey drive towards small animals, so he will need a home with no cats or pocket pets.

Diesel has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety since being at the facility.

Diesel would love to be included as a member of the family, who is dedicated to continuing his skin treatment routine & ensure he never has to live another day in this condition again.

If you think you could be that furever family for Diesel, please contact our friendly staff via email at [email protected] or 0499 900272 to organise a meet and greet.

Diesel’s adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. Diesel is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.

Diesel is currently located in East Maitland.

Introducing Suzie!

Suzie is an American Staffy x born 26th August 2020.

Gorgeous Suzie was originally brought into the facility as a stray, however the microchip details were out of date. When we found her owners we discovered that she was living her life chained to a verandah with only a pot of plain rice to eat. This explained why she was so skinny when she arrived.

Since being at the facility Suzie has won the hearts of all our staff & volunteers. She's super affectionate, gentle, (mostly) walks well on lead and doesn't seem to mind having her gorgeous face attacked with kisses & gentle squeezes. Our girl doesn't seem to be an overly active Staffy, in fact when we take her up to our enclosed exercise yard to stretch her legs, she just mosies around, has a sniff, goes to the toilet & is happy to head back to her kennel.

Suzie has met a few children & she was quite gentle with them.

Even though our gorgeous girl has clearly been bred several times, she did not test well with other dogs (even puppies) at the facility. While she mostly ignores other dogs when walking past their kennels, depending on the other dogs reaction to her, she can be reactive with them. Given this, Suzie will need to be the only dog at home.

As she is a big girl (36.5kg), Suzie will need an owner who is dedicated to her training & overall well-being. She will thrive with consistency, encouragement & lots of love.

Suzie has shown signs of prey drive towards small animals, so she will need a home with no cats or pocket pets.

Suzie has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety since being at the facility.

Suzie would love to be included as a member of the family, who is dedicated to ensuring she experiences more than just living on chain & breeding.

If you think you could be that furever family for Suzie, please contact our friendly staff via email at [email protected] or 0499 900272 to organise a meet and greet.

Suzie’s adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. Suzie is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.

Suzie is currently located in East Maitland.

Happy Sunday Sangas day!!

Dee wasn't feeling the best today, so unfortunately you're stuck with Don and I (Tahnee).

This week we kept it super simple with sausage sangas.. no cheese, no sauce, all sausage.. and I'm happy to say it was a huge hit!

While we know our Border Collie pups have all been adopted, pretty much all of the other dogs (other than Kingston) will more than likely be looking for their new, loving homes.

We hope you enjoy watching all our gorgeous kids enjoy their Sunday supper!

If you're interested in meeting any of these gorgeous babes, please contact CCACF on 0499 900272 or email [email protected]

Introducing Nina!

Nina is a Ragdoll born 1st January 2023.

Nina was surrendered to the facility as her owner is going into an age care home & wasn't able to take Nina with her.

Poor Nina is obviously very confused about why she's at the facility & isn't used to be confined to an enclosure. While Nina does rub against you for attention and seems to really want love from her humans, she can be unpredicatable with her response to that attention. For this reason we believe she would be best suited to a home with no children.

When Nina first arrived at the facility she wasn't in the best condition. While she was a lovely weight & in overall good health, her coat was incredibly matted and required an extensive clip while under sedation. We had hoped that making her more comfortable would help ease her into life at the facility, but it's clear she needs to be in a quiet home to decompress.

While we believe Nina will settle to be a beautiful companion once she's in a home enviornment, her new owners will need to understand that she may always carry a bit of sass with her & be patient enough to respect her boundaries.

Nina has met other cats through their enclosures and she is mostly unfazed by them, however she is quick to react to any signs of negative behaviour. Given this reaction & the fact she's never had another feline companion, we believe she would be best suited as the only pet at home.

Given her breed, she will need an owner who understands the high, daily grooming requirements of a long haired cat.

Nina will be rehomed to a family who will keep her as an inside cat only.

Nina is litter trained and would make a wonderful addition to most families.

If you think you could be that furever family for Nina, please contact our friendly staff via email at [email protected] or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.

Her adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. She is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.

Nina is currently located in East Maitland.

**Adopted**

Introducing Milo!

Milo is a French Bulldog born 10th August 2025.

Milo came to us from another facility where he wasn't claimed after his impound period.

Since being at the facility Milo has been an incredibly sweet boy. He's very affectionate & tries to climb on your lap at every opportunity. He is a little barrell of a dog, but a complete sweetheart. His sole focus seems to be humans and stealing their love, kisses & cuddles.

Milo tested quite well with other dogs, however he really had no interest in them as he was more focused on his human companions. We believe Milo could be suitable to live with another dog, or be the spoint only "child" at home. If you have a friendly dog we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.

Milo was quite scared of our facility cat and showed no aggression towards her in any way. We believe he could be suitable to live with cats if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.

Milo is untested with pocket pets.

Milo has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety since being at the facility.

Milo is being desexed on 17.06.26 and won't be able to go home until 18.06.26.

Milo would love to be included as a member of the family where he can be involved with daily activites & be smothered with as much love as possible.

If you think you could be that furever family for Milo, please contact our friendly staff via email at [email protected] or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.

Milo's adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. He is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.

Milo is currently located in East Maitland.

Introducing Marmalade!

Marmalade is a Domestic Medium Hair born 3rd March 2025.

These gorgeous boy & his sisters (Tips & M A) were brought into us from a cat hoarding situation in our local area. Now that his sisters have been adopted, Marmalade has started making great progress and we believe he's now ready to find his new loving family.

When these three first arrived at the facility they were obviously a little shy after being removed from their home & all the other cats they resided with. While it didn't take long for the girls to open up, Marmalade would stay hidden at all times. He has never shown any signs of aggression towards staff or volunteers, it just seemed like the world was just a little too overwhelming for him.. now though.. Marmalade is like a completely different cat! He's coming up to strangers for scratches, he's purring, he's getting his "happy feet" going and oh boy does he have a gorgeous strut!

We don't believe he's ever had toys before so he's not overly playful at this stage, however he seems quite content in getting cheek & bum scratches in the meantime.

As he has come from a cat hoarding home, he is used to the company of other cats, however given how much his confidence has grown since being by himself, we believe he might prefer being the only cat at home.

While Marmalade's confidence has come a long way since being with us, we don't believe he's had much interaction with young children. Given his slightly shy nature we feel that young children may be too overwhelming for him. With this in mind, we believe he'd be more comfortable in a home with children over 12 years.

Marmalade will be rehomed to a family who will keep him as an inside cat only.

Marmalade is litter trained and would make a wonderful addition to most families.

If you think you could be that furever family for this gorgeous boy, please contact our friendly staff via email at [email protected] or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.

His adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. He is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.

Marmalade is currently located in East Maitland.

🐾Adoption Update🐾

Last week Vicki & Mick reached out to give us a little update on their beautiful Golden girl Roxy. You may remember Roxy as the girl who arrived at the facility with a towel wrapped around her waist with a giant tumor protruding from her stomach. She went in for immediate surgery & was adopted not long later;

"Sending some photos of our gorgeous boy Bailey who has been very ill but has amazingly recovered and is doing just great now 👍and our beautiful Roxy who is the most precious, adorable, special little soul ever

Roxy and Bailey adore each other and are both happy delightful Goldens together
Roxy is in wonderful health a Vet check recently showed no sign of her cancer returning at all 🤞😊

Roxy is much loved by our entire family especially our Grandchildren
Thank you always for saving this wonderful girl and allowing the Freeman Family to have such a special gift in our lives.

Roxy always watches Sunday Sangas she still recognises your voices and always run to sit in front of the TV when we put it on and she watches and listens to the other dogs especially the puppies it's really amazing how she seems to remember you and the rescue 🥰"

We're so glad to hear that beautiful Roxy is still cancer free & is clearly living her best retirement life!!
