Collecting a sterile urine sample via ultrasound-guided cystocentesis 🩺🩺

In today's video, we're demonstrating an ultrasound-guided cystocentesis, a technique used to obtain a sterile urine sample directly from the bladder. 💉💉

Using ultrasound allows us to clearly visualize the bladder and guide the needle safely into position, improving accuracy and minimizing the risk of sampling contamination. This method is considered the gold standard when a urine culture is required.

The procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and generally very well tolerated by patients. The urine can then be submitted for analysis and culture, helping us accurately diagnose urinary tract infections and other urinary conditions. 🐶🐱🐭🐹🐰

A gorgeous pug who was rescued from the pound just a few weeks ago. Since then, Mugshot has been settling into a loving environment and showing off plenty of charm, personality, and affection. 🐶

This sweet little dog is proof that every rescue deserves a second chance. 😍

Today we honour beautiful Chookie, who was one of the luckiest and most loved hens, cared for and cherished throughout her life.

Today, she peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge after a long, healthy 8 years.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Chookie's family. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
