Genetics and Our Bulls at Dilday Ranch Beef – GAR Sure Fire
We believe genetics plays a big role in the quality of meat we provide our customers. Angus breeding programs continually work to improve desirable traits like marbling, growth, and carcass value, ultimately leading to higher-quality beef and greater efficiency. In essence, Angus genetics are a cornerstone of the farm-to-fork beef system, contributing to the exceptional quality, efficiency, and sustainability of Angus beef. This benefits producers, consumers, and the environment and this is what our customers are buying when they purchase beef from Dilday Ranch.
Our cattle lineage traces back to the renowned Gardiner Angus Ranch, renowned for its superior bloodlines. With meticulous selection of elite bulls known for their heritable marbling traits, we ensure every cut delivers unparalleled flavor and tenderness.
GAR stands for Gardiner Angus Ranch. In 1885 the Gardiner family traveled by covered wagon to Ashland, Kansas where they homesteaded on 160 acres. In the 1920’s Ralph Gardiner started establishing the present day Gardiner Ranch which is now operated by two generations. As a family-owned seedstock operation, Gardiner Angus Ranch is totally dedicated to the production of quality beef from gate to plate. The Gardiners use their experience in beef cattle breeding, with state-of-the-art technology and data management, to produce Angus cattle that make unquestionable contributions to the beef cattle industry.
