DOLLY IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! ❤️

Just look at this girl now! 🥹🐾

The life of neglect Dolly once knew is BEHIND HER. Today, she is happy, loved, thriving and absolutely LOVING LIFE — exactly the way it should be. ❤️

Dolly has completely blossomed in her foster home. She adores her foster siblings, is dog AND cat friendly, loves everyone she meets, and is just one of those incredibly sweet dogs who is simply happy to be loved.” ❤️

At 6 years old and about 55 pounds, Dolly has so much love to give. She’s affectionate, happy, social and clearly enjoying every second of this new chapter.
Seeing her surrounded by love and realizing that she is finally SAFE makes our hearts so happy. 🥹

❤️ AN UPDATE ON OUR GIRL LILY…

This poor girl just can’t seem to catch a break.

Lily went back to the vet for her follow-up, and because her paw was still swollen, the doctor needed to examine it more closely under sedation.

While Lily was sedated, the doctor took samples from the area and looked at them under the microscope. Unfortunately, she saw a significant number of abnormal cells, so those samples have now been sent out for pathology.

And now we wait. 💔

We don’t know what the results will show, and we don’t want to speculate. For now, Lily remains on some limited activity while we give the swelling more time to resolve and wait for the pathology report to come back.

After everything this girl has already been through, we were really hoping this would simply be a paw that needed a little more time to heal.

But whatever comes next, we will keep fighting for Lily. ❤️

And through all of this, Lily continues to remind us just how special she is.

Michelle said she was SUCH a good girl for her appointment, and the staff at Hounds Town absolutely adores her. 🥹❤️ She has made so many friends during her time there.

And Lily has even had some new visitors recently… 👀❤️ We’re not going to say too much just yet, but we hope to have an update to share soon.

❤️ NASHVILLE UPDATE — THIS LITTLE GUY JUST KEEPS AMAZING US! ❤️🐾

Nashville has officially transitioned into his wonderful new foster home, and we couldn’t be happier with how he is doing!

His foster mom says he is super sweet, has had no accidents in the house, started doing zoomies and is already very attached to her 22-year-old daughter. He absolutely loves being with his people and has a truly phenomenal disposition. 🥰

Nashville is still a little unsure of her husband, but he took treats from Scott, so they’re making progress! ❤️

He is also doing well with Charlie, the resident dog. Charlie just needs a little time, while Nashville is already wagging his tail and hoping they’ll become friends. 🐾

As for Nashville’s episodes, we have been advised to pursue a cardiology consultation rather than neurology, and we are waiting to confirm an appointment at Upstate. His foster family hasn’t seen anything unusual so far, but we want to get the proper answers and make sure nothing is overlooked.

After everything this little boy has been through — the neglect, being left without the care he needed, and arriving with nothing — it is incredible to see how resilient he is. ❤️

Nashville is 4 years old and 13 pounds, very affectionate, good with dogs and cats, and truly just wants to be with his people. He is going to make someone a wonderful companion.

🚨 CHONG'S SURGERY IS CONFIRMED — WE NEED TO RAISE $6,500.

Chong saw the orthopedic surgeon today, and unfortunately, the diagnosis was confirmed.

He needs TPLO surgery to repair his torn ACL. The estimate is up to $6,500.

Following surgery, Chong will need at least eight weeks of strict crate rest and a carefully managed recovery. It won't be easy for an active young dog, but thankfully, his wonderful foster mom is committed to getting him through every step of it. ❤️

Chong's surgery isn't optional. He will get the surgery he needs.

But $6,500 is a huge, unexpected expense for a small rescue already carrying so much.

Right now, we are managing multiple medical cases for both dogs and cats, the ongoing medical care of our Forever Fosters, and boarding expenses for Lily — all while continuing to care for every animal who depends on us.

This is the reality of rescue. The needs don't arrive one at a time.

So we are asking our village to step up for Chong.

💔 RIVER LOST HER DAD. NOW SHE NEEDS SOMEONE TO HELP HER START AGAIN.

River’s whole world changed when her dad passed away in May.

She was his companion, and one of their favorite routines was going to the dog park together every single day. She had her person, her home and a life she knew.

And then suddenly, her person was gone.

River is currently staying with her dad’s daughter, who has done everything she can for her. But as a single mom, she simply doesn’t have the time River deserves or the financial means to properly care for her long-term.

Now this 2½-year-old, approximately 75-pound girl needs her true forever.

SIR MARCUS III NEEDS A CHANCE! 🚨

One of our rescue advocates down South, who we work closely with, met this handsome boy at his vet this morning and immediately reached out to us to see if we could help. ❤️

Meet Sir Marcus III, a gorgeous approximately 6-year-old German Shepherd weighing around 85 pounds.

Marcus is very sweet, good with people, and good with other dogs. He was found at a friend’s farm, and they simply want to make sure this beautiful boy finds a safe, loving home.

We know a 6-year-old, 85-pound Shepherd in Mississippi may not be the easiest dog to place, but we don't want his age or size to be the reason he gets overlooked. He deserves someone willing to give him a chance.

We are looking for a German Shepherd rescue, foster, or approved adopter who can help Marcus get to the next chapter of his life. 🐾

💔 AND JUST LIKE THAT… CHONG NEEDS ACL SURGERY.

These are the moments in rescue you can never plan for.

A few days ago, Chong was happily playing in the yard when he suddenly started limping. We hoped maybe he had simply overdone it and that some rest would have him feeling better.

After 48 hours with no improvement, he went to the vet this afternoon.

Unfortunately, we got the news we were hoping not to hear.

Chong has torn his ACL and will need surgery.

At only about 4 years old and 56 pounds, medical management isn't a realistic long-term solution for him. He is young, active and has so much life ahead of him. He needs his knee repaired.

We have already set up a consultation with the orthopedic surgeon at Hudson Highlands for tomorrow. We will know more about the surgical plan and total cost after he is evaluated. In the meantime, Chong will be resting and taking an anti-inflammatory to keep him comfortable.

This is the part of rescue people don't always see.

We knowingly take in seniors. We knowingly say yes to dogs with medical needs. Right now, we are already covering specialist visits, medications, heartworm treatment, bloodwork and the continued medical care of our Forever Fosters.

Those are expenses we know about and do our best to prepare for.

What we can't prepare for are the injuries, emergencies and diagnoses that come out of nowhere.

One minute Chong is playing in his foster's yard. The next, we are facing a major orthopedic surgery on top of everything we are already carrying.

But Chong will get what he needs. ❤️

This is also why we strongly encourage our adopters to consider pet insurance. Unexpected injuries and illnesses can happen to any dog, at any age. While a dog remains in foster care, pet insurance isn't an option for us — their medical care is our responsibility.

So for Chong, we're making a very specific ask:

FINALLY… MR. CUDDLES HAD HIS SURGERY! 🥹❤️🐾

We know it has been weeks since our last update, and we’re sorry for the long silence. But there has been A LOT happening behind the scenes with this very special boy.

After everything Mr. Cuddles has been through, we were determined to get him the surgery he so desperately needed. First, we had to get his skin completely under control. Then we had to change surgeons to make sure he could get the care he needed.

And he finally had his surgery! 🙏❤️

After surgery, his swelling became so severe that he had to go back to the vet. His splint had to be removed, and he stayed there for two additional days so they could monitor him closely. Once the swelling came down, they were able to put a new splint on him.

And now, Mr. Cuddles is back with our amazing local advocate, Stacey. ❤️

Stacey has been incredible throughout this entire journey. He has been there for Mr. Cuddles through the appointments, the setbacks, the waiting, and everything in between. We are beyond grateful that this boy has someone like Stacey in his corner. He truly couldn’t ask for a better advocate. 🥹❤️

Mr. Cuddles has been through so much to get to this point, and yet he continues to be the wonderful, loving boy we’ve always known him to be.

We know so many of you have followed his journey, donated toward his care, shared his story, and checked in on him. Thank you for not giving up on him. ❤️

And once Mr. Cuddles is fully recovered and cleared by his veterinary team, we’ll be looking for a foster home for him—with the ultimate goal of finding him his forever home. ❤️

CHARLIE DOESN’T NEED SOMEONE TO “FIX” HER. SHE NEEDS SOMEONE WILLING TO SHOW HER THE WORLD ISN’T SO SCARY. ❤️

Many of you may remember Charlie. We previously posted looking for a foster or adopter for this beautiful girl, and thankfully, several people reached out wanting to help.

But since that post, we’ve come to understand Charlie better—and we now know she needs a very specific kind of home.

Charlie is a beautiful 3-year-old, 60 lb girl who currently lives with her owners, children, her sibling sister and another dog. She has struggled with sibling syndrome, but we have also come to realize just how fearful and timid she is.

Charlie is scared of unfamiliar people, new situations and much of the outside world. She simply hasn’t had enough positive exposure to new people, places and experiences to learn that they can be safe.

But being afraid does not mean Charlie cannot learn. ❤️

Underneath that fear is a sweet, loving girl who needs someone willing to help her build confidence at her pace.

Charlie needs a patient person or couple who will meet her where she is. Someone who won’t rush her or expect too much too soon. Someone willing to introduce her to the world slowly, celebrate the small victories and give her the time she needs to realize she is safe.

For now, we feel Charlie would do best in a home without other pets so the focus can be completely on her and building her confidence. That doesn’t mean she could never live with another dog again—it simply means we believe this is what Charlie needs at this point in her journey.

Charlie also has an allergy to grains and requires a grain-free diet. Thankfully, there are many options available, so this is very manageable.

We know there is someone out there who can give Charlie what she needs.

Maybe it’s someone who has experience with fearful or undersocialized dogs. Or maybe it’s someone with a quieter home who has the time and patience to let Charlie come around on her own terms.

She may not walk into your home and immediately understand that everything is okay. She may need time. She may need you to take things slowly. But watching her begin to trust, explore and realize she is safe will make every small step worth it.

❤️ LOOK AT LILY GIVING KISSES! ❤️

This is the Lily we want everyone to see. 🥹❤️

Lily may need a little time to trust, but once she does, this is what you get — kisses, affection, and a whole lot of love. And Michelle has definitely become one of her people. 🥰

Lily has been waiting in boarding for far too long. She continues to make friends and show everyone around her what a special girl she is, but what she really needs is a home and a person of her own. 🏡

On the medical front, Lily’s limp has thankfully subsided. ❤️ She has a follow-up appointment tomorrow to check her paw and make sure everything is healing as it should.

Now we just need someone to see this video and say, “That’s my girl.” ❤️

Lily doesn’t need someone to feel sorry for her. She needs someone willing to give her the time to trust, and then enjoy all the love and kisses that come with it.
