BENNY (4mo Mini Golden Doodle) completed his Puppy Basic Obedience Course on Thursday. Sandra brought Benny into her family when he was 9 weeks old. She had already done quite a bit of training on her own but now needed help fine-tuning what she had already taught Benny, as well as teaching him what he didn't know yet. She also wanted to strenthen her own leadership skills. Benny was definitely a fast learner and loved every minute of his training. Sandra always went above and beyond with her homework and has become a more productive and skilled Pack Leader. They are a very connected team!

LUCKY (10mo Poodle) completed his Puppy Basic Obedience Course on Wednesday. Jinny and John got him from a friend of theirs when he was 5 months old. They had potty trained him and tried teaching him a few commands, but they needed help. They also wanted to eliminate a few undesired behaviors; jumping, pulling on the leash, and refusing to leave it or drop it. Lucky had no problem learning all of the commands and the undesired behaviors are diminishing with the additional training that Jinny and John learned about being Pack Leaders. He is a very sweet, affection pup and thrives on learning! All three have come a long way!

ZEUS (12-14 to 9-20-26) Yesterday was a bitter-sweet day. My next door neighbor had to let their 12 year old lab, Zeus, cross the Rainbow Bridge. But it was a wonderful day for him. He got to have a lot of loving friends around him, he got to go for a car ride, he got to "walk" to my house for the sole purpose of going in the pool one more time, and he got to pass peacefully with lots of love surrounding him. My neighbors adopted Zeus when he was just 6 weeks old, in December 2014. I got to go with them to bring him home, although he wasn't the one they were going for. They were going for the black lab, but the yellow lab stole their hearts! Since I was a trainer and lived next door, it was decided that I would train him (them). The two young boys brought him over during summer months and we taught him how to swim and retreive in my pool. Whenever I was outside, he would bark "hi", come over to the block wall, and jump up for some lovin". Until he couldn't. But he would still bark and come to the wall, where I would look over and talk to him. Whenever I went next door, he would meet me at the gate and when I left he would walk me back to the gate. I was very found of him. During the 12 years that he lived next to me. I developed a strong bond with him and I will miss him and his sweet "hi". Rest in peace, Zeus. You will be missed by all of us😪

VALENTINA (5mo Havanese mix) completed her Puppy Basic Obedience Course yesterday. Lea Ann and Faye rescued Valentina in June of this year. They had done some training on their own but was now at the point of getting a little help. They not only wanted to teach her all the commands she didn't know, but wanted help with potty training, eliminating jumping, and pulling on the leash. More importantly, they both needed to strengthen their leadership skills and be on the same page (consistency). Valentina had no problem learning all her commands...she was always willing and happy to comply. Lea Ann and Faye were both very thankful for all that they learned. They are going to work with Valentina for a few weeks and then we will have a follow-up session. I'm looking forward to that! They are a great little family!!

CANELA (1yr Cane Corso) completed her Puppy Basic Obedience Course on Thursday. Canela was gifted to Beatriz and her brother, Dan when she was 8 weeks old. They were able to potty train her, taught her "sit", and "stay". Dan could walk her, but Beatriz could not, due to Canela's size and strength. Canela was still mouthing and jumping. At our first session, I was also told by Beatriz that she was "afraid" of Canela, felt like she would bite her. I could tell right away that Canela was just a big 'ol teddy bear, possibly the sweetest Cane Corso I have ever trained. By the end of the first session, I was confident enough to be able to tell Beatriz that I truly believed Canela would never bite her (unless of course it was out of fear or defending herself). As the sessions went on, Beatriz became a stronger Pack Leader, and Canela became a more structured, calmer, and disciplined girl. She learned all her commands, the jumping and mouthing became less frequent. But most importantly and the biggest accomplishment, in my eyes, was when Beatriz told me she was no longer afraid of Canela! They make a wonderful team!

BODEY (3mo Bernese Mt. Dog) completed his Puppy Basic Obedience Course today. Liz and Kevin made Bodey part of their family in July, this year. They, along with their two children, Adrian and Christine began working on a few commands, as well as potty training. It was then time to call in reinforcements, so they called me! They wanted to make sure that Bodey learned all the commands and wanted to make sure that they learned how to become better Pack Leaders. Bodey learned amazingly fast and loved doing it, because Liz and Kevin grew each week into stronger, beloved Pack Leaders. We ended today with teaching Bodey how to ring the bell to go outside. It's amazing what a little peanut butter can do! They are going to work with Bodey for another month or two and then we will begin his next course of "working in distractions". I can't wait to work with them all again.

LOTTI (3mo Mini Dachshund) completed her Puppy Basic Obedience Course on Thursday. Lotti became part of the family when she was just 8 weeks old. Natalia had already potty trained and had taught her a few commands. She called me because she wanted to teach her ALL commands and become a more knowledgeable Pack Leader herself. She also wanted to make sure Lotti would be a good airplane passenger for a trip Natalia was planning to take very soon. Natalia was exceptionally proficient in following her homework assignments, as Lotti would be almost 100% during her weekly reviews. Needless to say, she was a perfect little girl on her flight and passed with "flying" colors. She learned all commands and Natalia is now a proud and effective Pack Leader!

STORMY (6mo Dachshund) completed her Puppy Basic Obedience Course yesterday. Sydney and her brother, Declan, had done a pretty good job teaching Stormy some very basic commands and teaching her to use potty pads. However, they wanted her to learn all commands, while building their own Pack Leader skills. They both did a wonderful job on following their homework assignments (lessons) and Stormy turned out to be just what they had hoped she'd be....very smart and easy to train! Kudos to all three!

XENA (11mo Husky) completed her Puppy Basic Obedience Course on Wednesday. Destinee and her daughter rescued Xena 2 months ago and are providing a wonderful furever home for her. They worked on several commands, and got her potty trained but needed to get additional help to teach her additional commands and work on jumping, mouthing, and pulling on the leash. Xena accomplished all commands. She is still a "work in progress" for jumping and pulling on the leash. However, Destinee has strengthened her leadership skills and is now much more confident in being a stronger Pack Leader. They both learned so much, together, as a team. Yeah!

BINGO (7mo Pomeranian) completed his Puppy Basic Obedience Course today. Maggie and her mom, Derlan, are previous clients. We trained Tyson over 6 years ago. Maggie worked with Bingo, using all that she learned with Tyson, but also wanted a little help. She also decided this would be a good time to refresh Tyson's commands, along with tweaking her own leadership skills. Bingo did great, was a fast and eager learner. Tyson was quick to recover some of the commands that he had "forgotten". Maggie concluded she had become "too lenient" and will work on that. It was a win-win all around! I enjoyed working with them again!
