NEW RELEASE: Julien’s Hopabout 🦘🍻

Our newest brew has hopped into Waco!

Meet Julien’s Hopabout, a 7.6% Double Hazy IPA bursting with tropical character from the very first sip. Expect a guava and passionfruit explosion, followed by layers of pineapple, strawberry, peach, and tangerine.

Brewed with Berkeley Yeast London Tropics and loaded with Galaxy, Mosaic, Idaho 7, and Barbe Rouge hops, this juicy release is named after Julien, the wallaby at Cameron Park Zoo bringing a little bit of Waco wildlife into every pint.

Help our keepers create enrichment items for our zoo animals while enjoying a relaxed summer evening with fellow members. We'll provide the craft supplies as well as free popsicles for an added treat! Don't forget to bring your swimsuit if you'd like to cool off on our slip n slides! 👙

Join us for animal encounters during our new summer hours! The Zoo is open 9am-5pm Monday-Sunday and encounters are available Thursday-Sunday:

🦘 Kangaroo Walkabout | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
🦒 Giraffe Feeding | 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
🐢 Tortoise Encounter | 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM

We'd like to welcome a new baby Hosmer’s Spiny-Tailed Skink to !

Cameron Park Zoo is one of six zoos in North America and one of three in Texas holding this large skink AND the only zoo to report a birth! Global zoo population equals 60 with most in Australian zoos and one European zoo.

is home to 7 orangutans that you may see during your visit! They all rotate between their night house, day yards, and habitat 🦧

They have multiple spaces during the night and day, and all of them have fun enrichment items like firehose, puzzle feeders, and bedding 🧩

It is beneficial for them to have the rotation because we can do advanced training with them behind the scenes that we can't do when they're on habitat!

Heads up - giraffes will be off exhibit next week starting 6/22 for habitat enhancements! 🦒

Don't worry, you'll be able to see them tomorrow for World Giraffe Day 9am-2pm! Keeper chats will be at 10:30am & 1:30pm. Free with admission!

It's with Julien. He is not a baby kangaroo, but a Bennett's Wallaby! 🦘

-Julien will grow to be about 3 feet tall and about 30lbs fully grown
-Their native habitat is in Tasmania and the east coast of Australia, but there are also non-native populations in the UK - this is due to them escaping zoos and private collections over the past century! 🤯
-Wallabies are known for their hopping skills but in a pinch, they can also swim! 🏊
