Within 100mi of Waco, there are currently 3,483 cats and 9,658 dogs on Petfinder.com looking for new homes. To help alleviate the strain on local shelters and rescues, we're proud to provide a Pet Food Pantry so that no family has to consider surrendering their beloved pet due to an issue that can be solved as simply as receiving a bag of food. 🫂

Unfortunately, our Pet Food Pantry is running extremely low - in some cases, completely out - of:
• Dry adult dog food
• Dry puppy food
• Dry cat food
• Dry kitten food
• Kitty litter

We’re asking our community to help us make sure no one has to face saying goodbye to their furry family member over a bag of food. 💚

How you can help:
Pick up your favorite pet food and goodies at your local store and drop off donations anytime we’re open! Drop off at 3238 Clay Ave Waco, TX 76711 | Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm

OR

Send supplies directly through our wish lists below (you can even sign up for monthly shipping to help keep our pantry stocked):
Amazon - https://a.co/cMF3iQ4

If you’re able, please choose multiple smaller bags instead of one large bag. This helps our team distribute food more quickly and efficiently to the families who need it most!

Every bag donated keeps a bowl full, a pet at home, and a family together. 💜

🐾 June is National Microchipping Month! 🐾

Every pet parent knows the feeling. The panic that sets in when you can't find your pet. One open gate, a broken leash, or a moment of fear during a storm can change everything in an instant. A microchip is a simple, safe, and permanent form of identification that greatly increases the chances of a lost pet being reunited with their family.

While collars and tags can be lost, a microchip stays with your pet and provides a direct link back to the people who love them most. If your pet is ever found and brought to a veterinary clinic, shelter, firehouse, etc, staff can scan the chip and contact you using the information registered to it.

We've seen the tears of joy when a lost pet is reunited with their family, and we've seen the heartbreak when there is no way to identify a beloved companion. Microchipping helps ensure that if the unthinkable happens, your pet has the best possible chance of finding their way back home.

This National Microchipping Month, give your pet a voice when they can't speak for themselves. A microchip isn't just identification, it's peace of mind, hope, and a better chance at a happy reunion.

Click the link in the comments below to book your microchip appointment - It's one of the easiest ways to protect the pets you love. 🧡

The Dog Days of Summer Are Upon Us! 🐾🌞

When we first met Stella and Bellissima, these gorgeous girls were struggling with hair loss due to flea allergies. Within a short month on flea/tick preventatives, they had a massive glow-up! To celebrate their now itch-free lives and shiny coats, our Outreach team celebrated with a pool party. 😎

Behind every surgery, every wagging tail, and every healthy pet is a team of incredible volunteers making it all possible. We rely on compassionate helpers to keep things running smoothly and right now, we’re looking for a few special volunteers to join our mission!

🧺 Laundry Angel Needed
With so many surgeries each day, blankets and towels pile up quickly. Help keep our furry patients cozy and comfortable by washing and folding laundry for the next pets in our care.

✂️ Head Cone Helpers Needed
We’re also looking for volunteers to help build recovery cones for pets after surgery. These simple but important cones help keep pets safe and healing properly while they recover at home.

Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a meaningful way to give back, your time truly makes a difference for local pets and families in need. Interested in volunteering with us? Yesterday May 20th was National Rescue Dog Day, and around here, we know rescue dogs are something special.

They come from everywhere: shelters, rescues, parking lots, highways and friends.

They all have the very best story of how they came to be in our life.

Rescue dogs have a way of changing everything. They become couch potatoes, adventure buddies, protectors, comedians, shadow-followers, and family. They teach us about resilience, compassion, forgiveness, and unconditional love in ways words hardly describe.

Today, we want to celebrate the rescue dogs who found their people — and the people who opened their hearts to them. We also want to thank all of our local rescue friends who take it upon themselves to give love and compassion to animals that need it most!

Share a photo of your rescue dog in the comments and tell us a little about them: How did they come into your life? What is their story? What makes them unforgettable?
We would love to fill our comment section with happy tails, second chances, and dogs who made life better just by being in it.
We know every rescue dog deserves to be celebrated and deeply loved.

Thank you for trusting us with the care of your best companion-we are grateful!

We just wrapped up our annual Petworking in the Park event in partnership with the Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce 🐶🐱

It was a warm one out there but thanks to our incredible volunteers, generous vendors, and every one of YOU who joined us, 187 pets at Brazos Park East received free preventative care, including vaccines, microchipping, veterinary exams, nail trims, and more! 🐾

This event is an impactful part of our strategic work to make affordable, accessible veterinary care a reality for every pet. By providing these essential services, we helped save local pets and their families more than $22,000 in care costs. The impact of May 9th goes far beyond just one day, it means healthier pets, supported families, and a stronger community for us all.

A special thank-you to Petco Love for their lifesaving partnership, providing support for vaccinations through their Vaccinated and Loved Grant! 💜

The countdown to the the 5th annual Petworking community event begins now and we can’t wait to do it all again!

Kitten Kits are Now Available at the Clinic!

Spring means kitten season is here—and with it, a surge of newborn kittens in our community.

Here’s the most important thing to know:
A kitten’s best chance at survival is to stay with their mom.

If you find kittens, pause before intervening. Mom cats often leave temporarily to search for food and may move their babies one at a time to keep them safe.

When should you step in?
☆Do NOT remove kittens if mom is nearby or expected to return.
☆DO step in if there has been no sign of mom for 24 hours and the kittens are truly alone.

When help is needed, we’re here to support you.

Our goal is to keep fragile newborns OUT of the shelter, where the level of care they require often exceeds available resources. By caring for kittens in a home environment, you are giving them a far better chance to survive and thrive.

If you’ve confirmed kittens need help, stop by our clinic:
3238 Clay Avenue
Our team will:
🟣Collect your contact information
🟩Provide a Kitten Kit with everything you need, including:
Step-by-step neonate care instructions
Kitten milk replacer
Royal Canin Babycat wet food
Miracle Ni**le + syringe for safe feeding

We’ll also stay in touch and help guide next steps, including Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) support for your neighborhood.

Together, we can ensure that McLennan County’s most vulnerable kittens are given a real chance—because of YOU
