🐴🔥 LET’S TALK ABOUT HAY & HORSES IN THIS EXTREME HEAT! 🔥🐴

Something has really been on my mind lately, and the more I research it, the more interesting it gets.

We all know that hay is like a little furnace for a horse in the winter. ❄️🔥

Horses digest fiber through microbial fermentation in the cecum and large intestine, and that digestive process produces heat. This is one of the reasons forage is so important for helping horses maintain body temperature during colder weather.

But here’s the question…

What happens when we go from winter temperatures to EXTREME summer heat? ☀️🔥

Could that same “furnace” effect be one of the reasons we see horses naturally eating less hay when temperatures get brutally hot?

According to equine nutrition resources, horses do tend to reduce their forage intake during hot periods because digesting high-fiber forage generates more body heat.

And when you really think about it…

A horse’s body is already working overtime trying to cool itself through sweating and increased respiration. Horses can lose significant amounts of water through sweat in hot conditions, which makes hydration incredibly important.

So when your horse stands there in 95°+ heat and looks at that pile of hay like:

“Nope. Not today.” 😂🐴

Maybe they’re not simply being picky.

Maybe their body is saying:

“I don’t need to turn the furnace up any higher right now!” 🔥🤣

NOW… I’m not saying horses should simply stop eating forage. Horses are designed to eat forage throughout the day, and maintaining adequate forage intake is important for digestive health.

But I think there’s a really interesting conversation here about HOW we manage forage during extreme heat.

🌡️ Do you notice your horses eating less hay when temperatures get extremely high?

🌾 Do they seem to eat more during the cooler nighttime hours?

💧 Do you notice their water consumption increasing while hay consumption decreases?

🐴 Do you think their bodies are instinctively adjusting their forage intake to help manage their internal heat load?

And here’s another question…

Are our horses communicating something to us through their eating patterns that we sometimes overlook?

I would LOVE to hear what you’re seeing with your horses.

Because sometimes I think we spend so much time telling our animals what they should be doing that we forget to watch what they’re actually telling us. ❤️🐴

Sometimes the day you didn’t plan becomes the day that matters most. 🐾💜

Jordan and I set out for what was supposed to be a simple day of errands, a little time to reset, release, and re-energize. Somehow, we ended up at the Meramec River.

As we were driving toward the spot where we planned to walk, I looked toward the woods and saw a tiny, scared face peeking out. I said, “Oh my goodness… there’s a puppy!”

Jordan stopped and backed up. Sure enough, someone had dumped a defenseless baby in the middle of the woods—with nothing but a blanket and an empty water bowl. Seed ticks, coyotes, and who knows what else surrounded him. He had no chance.

The moment we approached, he ran straight into our arms. It was almost as if he knew someone had finally seen him.

We spent the next five hours getting the seed ticks off him, giving him a bath, feeding him, and getting him a collar. And through it all, this little boy was the sweetest, most well-behaved puppy.

I couldn’t stop asking myself: How could anyone abandon a defenseless animal and think that was okay?

Choosing an animal is a responsibility. They depend on us for their safety, food, comfort, and love. They don’t understand being unwanted or discarded. They trust us.

As an animal communicator, I’m constantly reminded that animals feel, know, and communicate in ways we often overlook.

Our day wasn’t planned. But maybe Spirit—or the universe, whichever speaks to you—put us exactly where we needed to be.

We may not be able to save every animal. But on this day, we saved one. And that one beautiful life was worth far more than any errands we had planned.

And the story gets even better… Jordan decided this little boy is coming home. 🥹❤️ He now has a big sister, a beautiful home, and a mom and dad who will love him fiercely and give him the safety, love, and life that the person who abandoned him so carelessly denied him.

Sometimes the greatest purpose finds you when you weren’t looking for it. Today, this little angel found his family. 🐾💜 as well as his big sister Sadie.

AUGUST 12, 2026 — WATCH YOUR ANIMALS
Tomorrow we have an extraordinary convergence of celestial energy: a NEW MOON, TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE, PEAK OF THE PERSEID METEOR SHOWER, and a RARE SIX-PLANET ALIGNMENT all occurring within roughly the same 24-hour period.
As an animal communicator and someone who works closely with animal energy, I want to encourage you to pay extra attention to your animals over the next several days. You may notice unusual behavior such as restlessness, increased vocalization, clinginess, withdrawal, changes in sleep, heightened alertness, or simply a feeling that your animal is behaving differently than normal.
This does not mean every behavior change is caused by celestial activity. Always consider your animal’s physical health and veterinary needs first. But energetically, this is a powerful time to slow down, observe, listen, and become more connected with the animals in your life.
If your animal seems different, don’t immediately dismiss it. Watch them. Listen to them. Ground yourself. Notice what they’re showing you.
Sometimes our animals communicate long before we realize they’re trying to tell us something.

Wow Thank you Jacklyn!!!! I never saw this before until now

First and foremost, thank you so much for helping me find my dog, Cash, this week. I seriously can’t thank you enough for your help. You reassured me that he was okay and would come home.

On Wednesday evening, I sent a message asking if she would be able to connect with my dog and help us locate him. I sent a couple of photos of him, described the lay of the land, and details of things she asked-corn fields, muddt fields, etc. We were on the phone for about a couple of hours well into the night. We decided to take a break and resume the search the next day. Julie described the location and details of ther location to a T-goats, black dog, white fence, tall brown grass, muddy field, etc. I was absolutely ecstatic to find him. He was hunkered down in the grass just like she mentioned and a lady would find him. I didn’t think it would be me, figured it would be a neighbor.

It was a fantastic afternoon to have found him! Im so thankful and forever grateful 🥹

Today, I would like to honor a beautiful soul named Daisy she is fighting the battle of cancer 😤

Daisy is a young dog with a gentle heart, a sweet spirit, and an incredible will to live. She has already endured more than most ever should. After bravely facing the amputation of her leg they found out that she has T cell lymphoma she continues to navigate her journey with courage, grace, and determination. Now, as she faces another challenge in her battle with cancer, her strength continues to shine brightly.

When I connected with Daisy, I could feel her emotions, her vulnerability, and her deep desire to keep moving forward. Beneath the uncertainty and discomfort is a soul that is still fighting, still loving, and still embracing life with everything she has.

I would also like to honor Daisy’s mom and dad, who have gone above and beyond every step of the way to ensure that she is comfortable, supported, and surrounded by love. They have left no stone unturned, making sure every measure has been taken to give Daisy the best possible care and quality of life. The love they have for this beautiful girl is undeniable. It can be felt in every decision they make, every sacrifice they give, and every moment they spend by her side. Daisy is truly blessed to be so deeply loved.

Today, I am asking our beautiful community to come together and hold Daisy in love, light, strength, and healing energy. Whether through prayer, positive thoughts, Reiki, meditation, or simply sending love from your heart, please take a moment to lift this precious girl up.

Imagine Daisy surrounded by a radiant golden light. See her wrapped in comfort, peace, courage, and healing. Send love to every cell of her body and remind her spirit that she is not alone in this fight.

🐴 Story Time with Doge 🐴

First things first… excuse my mouth. 😅

The horse who used to lovingly call me “Snitch Bitch” finally came home after spending 30 days away learning how to act right. And let me tell you… he had a lot to say.

The moment I sat down with him, he melted right into me. The tough-guy attitude disappeared, and underneath it was a horse who had missed his home, his people, his routine, and the comfort of being where his heart belongs.

As we sat together, nose tucked against me, the conversation unfolded. He shared stories of his time away, the lessons he learned, the things he liked, the things he definitely didn’t like, and all the emotions that come with being separated from the life you know.

And then came the confession. 😏

Apparently, returning home didn’t immediately cure him of all his questionable life choices. There was, in fact, an unfortunate run-in with the green gate. According to Doge, there were reasons, explanations, and circumstances that should absolutely be considered before passing judgment. Whether those reasons hold up in a court of horse law remains to be determined.

But what stayed with me most wasn’t the stories or even the gate incident.

It was the feeling.

The calmness. The trust. The quiet moments between words as he leaned into me, soaking up the connection. The way animals open their hearts when they know they’re finally being heard. Beneath every behavior is a story. Beneath every mistake is an emotion. And beneath every tough exterior is a soul that simply wants to belong.

Today wasn’t about the green gate.

It was about coming home. ❤️
