When I have a student who has worked very hard to make progress in her riding skills and one day she is able to put together her rein and leg aids and complete a task that is a challenge for her- it makes my heart happy! My arena was mostly under water because of a big rain so I harrowed the available space and it turned out to be a blessing for this rider because she soon found out if she didn’t use the correct aids she would be in the water! It took a few tries and then everything she had been learning clicked! Correct aids, bent through the rib cage, not the neck, flexing the jaw instead of pulling the head around! Very proud of her for sticking to it!
