I am excited to announce the very first Cat of the Month! 😸❤

That's right, Heart to Paw takes care of kittys too... but only nail trims with the help of the cat parent! 😉 I have never groomed a cat and that is one adventure I will stay away from. 😅

Regardless, I would like to introduce to you, Millie Kellenburger! 😻 She is super sweet, adorable and smart! One of the first visit, her dad literally brought her in a pillow case! 🤣That was the only way he could catch her. Since then, it's been a game. If she sees the cat carrier come out, she hides. He started closing doors ahead of time, to trap her, but she has caught onto him. Cats sure are hilarious creatures! 😹

Since she is the fist Cat of the Month, neither her dad or I could decide what picture to post, so here are several for ya! Millie is the only cat that currently comes to me on a regular basis, but I have had a few others on and off. I hope more will start coming on a regular schedule so I can introduce them as well. For now, Millie is queen! 😽

**UPDATE**

The inspector came out today, but they are for insurance purposes only. Which means, I will need an additional inspection from Safebuilt before I can open my buisness.

I believe/hope windows will start going in next week. Once the windows are in, the trim and whatnot will get finished up in the salon. I really can't see Safebuilt passing the business without everything done inside the salon... previous experience justifies that. 🙄

As soon as the contractors start putting the final touches on the salon, I will immediately reach out to Safebuilt to get an inspection scheduled. When I get a passed inspection, I will set up the salon and start calling people. 🥰

Hang in there just a little longer. I really feel next week will begin that final push towards reopening. I hope I am not wrong! 🙏

**UPDATE **

The salon has new flooring! For those who are curious, the upstairs room has been painted!

I am waiting to hear back on an inspection date. I will try to get answers on if I will need a separate inspection to open. Once I have a passing inspection for the business itself, I can start calling people.

In the meantime, please get your dog in wherever you can. Not only will it benefit your dog, it will help get everyone back on the schedule faster. I will let you know when I get more info.

It's so surreal to see how full this dumpster is, knowing most of what's in there is damage from my home. 😣 Before the contractors are through, they will need to replace this dumpster with another, as there is still much more to tend to.

Looking at this just puts into perspective just how much damage was caused by the tornado. This doesn't even include the piles and piles of debris we had outside, not just from my home, but from the neighborhood. The tons of contractor bags filled with debris from the yard and from inside the house. Plus even more contractor bags filled with a lots of soaked insulation above the salon. It's been a mess and it's been a long road of clean-up and recovery. 😩

I am sharing this with you because I want you to understand how difficult this has been and still is. My time off has not been relaxing in the slightest. I have been dealing with phone calls, emails, the bank, many different adjusters from the insurance company for home, auto, business, and income. My entire home feels clustered as all my salon stuff is in my dining room, and currently my bedroom is in my living room. There is constant dust and noise throughout the week as the contractors work hard at repairing my home. I am absolutely grateful for them, though it can get overwhelming at times. 🫣

Whether you have taken the time to read all this or not, the point to this post is to ask for your continued patience. I know this has been a long wait and hard for everyone... especially me. This will all come to an end soon, but please, please, please get your dog groomed while you wait. There are many grooming options out there. I WILL reach out as soon as I have an open date. I know everyong is anxiously waiting to get their dog back on the schedule, but again I ask, please be patient! ❤

**UPDATE**

Got word that the salon flooring has arrived! They will be installing it on Tuesday and then I will reach out to schedule an inspection. Still don't know if I need a city inspection as well. I hope to find the answer to that soon! Getting closer! Have a great weekend! 🥰

The salon has lights and a bigger, better fan! The salon should be more comfortable during the summer now with better airflow! 🥰

If you wonder what else Cardinal Restoration has been up to, they have been repairing and replacing the walls in one of the upstairs rooms. This room had water damage and the big window was pushed in, off its frame, from the storm.

The salon is coming together, as well as the rest of my home! 💖

The old flooring has been pulled up. You can definitely see where the water from the storm damage pooled and got under the floor. The holes for new light fixtures have been cut out as well.
