Hose Those Toes Dog Grooming, LLC Hi, I’m Shay! If you’re looking for a quiet grooming experience for your dog, my shop provides a relaxed setting where your pet is my only client.

This creates a low-stress environment that can be helpful for dogs who need extra space and patience. I grew up in the country with all kinds of animals. Chickens, rabbits, turkeys, ducks, geese sent straight from the devil, cats, snakes, horses, a cow here and there, ferrets, hedgehogs, even a couple of doves at one point. Aside from horses, one constant in our lives was always having at least one dog around, usually two or three. The first two I remember are our chihuahua, Munchkin, and my dad’s amazing Chesapeake retriever, Mo. Munchy tolerated us, but Mo loved her little girls almost as much as she loved hunting with my dad. I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember, and every time we’ve lost one, they’ve taken a piece of my heart with them. For several years now, I’ve dreamed of being able to spend my days working with dogs, whether that’s grooming, boarding, doggy daycare, or maybe someday even training. While I’m not there yet, starting this business is a step in the right direction.

I'm a little late on posting these, but I'm so excited to have earned my Certificates of Completion for the PDGA Dog Groomer Assistant course and the Intermediate Dog Grooming Course. I'm always watching videos and working to improve my skills, but having a document that acknowledges those skills is a good feeling!

I'm also certified in cat and dog first aid through the American Red Cross.

Now that all of the big important things are done in the shop, I've been able to make some modifications and focus on smaller details. I've added skirting to the front, modified the front steps so there's a platform for more space outside the door, and traded out my strip lights for some fabulous hexagon lights I've been seeing all over the groomer groups. They've made a world of difference, I'm so glad I decided to make this change!

I also found a cute little dresser to store grooming tools and such, I love how the paint turned out. I started out with a set of plastic drawers, but they weren't big enough to hold everything and let hair in.
