🤠🐮 We're Bursting at the Seams with Cattle Dog Cuteness! 🐮🤠

Are you ready to meet your new best friend? Our shelter is overflowing with irresistible cattle dog mixes, from playful puppies to seasoned adults, all eager to find their forever homes. If you’ve been dreaming about adding a cattle dog to your family, now’s the perfect time to meet our crew and discover which one is the right fit for you.

Australian Cattle dogs are clever, energetic, and loyal companions. They thrive when they have a job to do—whether it’s agility, hiking, or playing endless games of fetch! If you’re up for the fun and adventure, a cattle dog could be your ideal match.

First-time cattle dog parent? No worries! We believe everyone deserves to share life with the dog breed of their dreams. We trust you’ve done your homework, but we’re always here to guide you.

A few things to know:
✨Cattle dogs are working dogs and love to herd, so they need plenty of mental and physical activity to stay happy.

✨Because herding often involves nipping at the heels (like they would with livestock), adult cattle dogs may not be the best fit for homes with small children. However, our playful puppies may be a wonderful option for families with kids!

Ready to meet your new sidekick? Explore the cattle dogs available below, read the information about each dog captioned under their photo 📷, and visit us tomorrow—you might just find your perfect match!

🗒Please note: The puppies in this post are not related to the adult cattle dogs and did not arrive with them. However, all the adult cattle dogs previously lived together.

🩺All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age‑appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Adopters must establish vet care after adoption.

☑Please bring a collar and leash, or purchase a combo from us for $15 to safely take your new family member home.

✳️Adoptions are completed on a first-come, first-serve, and in-person.

🐶🧑Meet & Greets:
Although all the dogs featured in this post have demonstrated positive interactions with other dogs, we always recommend meet-and-greets with both dogs and children to ensure the best possible match.

Please let 'forever' be a promise you can keep, before you adopt!
And remember the 3-3-3 Rule when adopting a shelter pet.

🤗💘 For Davey's Home - Bring On The Human Cuddles! NO Cats Please 🤗💘

Coming to us as a stray after entering his finder’s yard and chasing their cats, Davey is counting on his perfect family finding him!
This 3 year old awaited our officer’s arrival in the arms of his finder, as he was perfectly pleasant, friendly and sweet with all the humans – even their child! Now the cats, that was a different story! He even got a few cat scratches, and rightly so, while he was actively chasing them!

Since he has been here, he met a similar sized spayed female and greeted her with nose-to-nose sniffs - to which her response was a precious play bow! Sweet Davey tried to emulate his friend’s gracefulness, and it was a play bow ‘bow off’! The playing ensued and it was a great meeting with his canine pal!

He LOVES to play with stuffies, and is truly a calm and gentle little man!

We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for all. And we do NOT recommend a home with cats for this guy and for the cats in the home!

We are a first come, first served and in-person adoption center and are located at 430 Bristol Drive in Statesville, NC.
We are open for adoption:
Monday-Friday 12-5pm
Saturdays 11am-2pm

All of our adoptable dogs/puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and UTD on all age-appropriate vaccines/preventatives. Adopters will need to establish vet care upon adopting to maintain their new family member’s health and wellness.

🥰Meet Iggy!🥰

Iggy is a charming 3-year-old cattle dog mix with plenty of love to share! He arrived at the shelter as a stray with a microchip, and after some detective work, we found a previous owner who had rehomed him a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, his most recent family's details are a mystery, and no one has come to reclaim him.

But Iggy isn’t letting that get him down! He’s still all smiles and wags, hoping that the third time’s the charm and his true forever home is just around the corner. We’ve learned that Iggy is super playful, absolutely loves playing with toys 🧸, and can’t get enough of splashing in the water💦! Although we don’t know much about his past, he’s been nothing but sweet, loving, and upbeat during his time with us. He’s the kind of dog who’s always ready to make a new friend!

When Iggy met another dog at the shelter, he couldn’t contain his excitement and burst into zoomies! He’s playful, social, and sometimes gets a little too enthusiastic, but he’s quick to listen and respectful when gently corrected by other dogs. If you’re looking for a lively, loyal, and affectionate companion to bring happiness to your home, Iggy is your guy.

Come meet Iggy and see if you’re the person he’s been waiting for!

❤️❤️ Sweet Greta- Look at that SMILE!❤️❤️

Wandering between her finder’s yard and a busy roadway, Greta was neither chipped nor had an ID tag - which means no way to contact a family!

She tries to help wherever she can (not helpful at the front desk, but she sure is cute trying!) and we have found that she helps best by just being by your side! Such a good girl!

She has met two other dogs here, one same size, neutered male and one slightly larger spayed female, and although she didn’t seem too interested in playing, she didn’t mind just hanging out with them.
Greta was polite even when they started pawing at her, and was very restrained with both of them in her correction.
She may do best with a calm more respectful dog - not playing as much as some of her younger counterparts, and will require that she receives a meet and greet with other dogs who may be in the home, prior to adoption.

We always recommend meet and greets with children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for all, also!
Because she was a stray, we don't know how she does with cats and have no way to test for that.
Come and meet this sweet little lady in person to see if she is meant to spend forever with your family! We are a first come, first served and in person adoption center.
All of our adoptable dogs/puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and UTD on all age-appropriate vaccines/preventatives. Adopters will need to establish vet care upon adopting to maintain their new family member’s health and wellness.

She is hopeful that her NEW family will find her – so she can become a beloved member of her very own family!

And remember the 3-3-3 Rule when adopting a shelter pet.

😍Meet Fang, our incredibly handsome 4-year-old German Shepherd!

Fang’s journey began under heartbreaking 💔 circumstances. He and his canine housemates arrived at the shelter severely emaciated and unsure what the future would hold. But Fang’s resilience and gentle spirit have truly shined through. With loving care, he has gained over 20 pounds and undergone the most incredible transformation—a true glow-up! The difference between his intake photo and the joyful, healthy boy he is now is nothing short of inspiring.

But what really makes Fang special goes far beyond his looks. His personality shines brighter 😎 than ever! Fang is a sweet, gentle soul who loves making new friends—both canine and human. He walks beautifully on a leash, knows how to sit, and delights in playtime with other dogs.

Because Fang is still learning that food is always available, he’s a bit excited when taking treats, so he’d do best in a home without small children. What Fang longs for most is a patient, loving family who will support him as he continues to gain confidence, thrive, and discover all the joys of being truly safe and cared for.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a heart of gold, come meet Fang at the shelter. He’s ready for his forever family—and to share all the happiness he has to offer!
