Dallas is Such a Lucky Dog! When her owner lost her home, she was abandoned in a parking lot. Lucky for this girl- she was scooped up by nearby rescue and given a second chance at life. At 8 years old and with some obvious social issues, this little powerhouse packs a lot in a smaller package. Dallas might be short in stature, but she’s not shy of any confidence and ambition, that’s for sure. It was soon clear that she couldn’t be placed in a normal home environment. She needed special sanctuary somewhere she would not be consistently challenged by new people and pets. Dallas almost a year ago and has settled right in. We absolutely fell in love with spicy Dally from the jump, so her happy and fun retirement here in the country is already underway. She loves to zoom in the yards, has made new friends and is loving life. We feel lucky that she eventually found her way here. We got you now girl - no worries forever. ❤️

It can be an absolute grind to keep up with the needs and wants of this household of dogs everyday. No matter what else occurs in life, the needs here never stop. However it also truly feels like a blessing to get to spend every waking moment in the company of so many canines. To be pure in our quest and come through for every dog that calls us home, we must want to do it for them. We have never questioned our desire to answer that need. A dog arrives confused and broken and we want to show them comfort and stability so that they can be whole again. When we finish each long day - some absolutely relentlessly never ending- and so many happy healthy dogs lay resting in this house - we feel blessed. Our hard work everyday can make their lives whole again.

Also true however is that we could never keep the bills paid and lights on and the house stocked with everything we need for every animal in our care without money. None of the animals know what money is - another reason we love them so much - but if they could understand how important your support is to their livelihoods - they would do their best begging routine for you - sad eyes and sloped back ears included. We could never run out of Love for these four legged creatures but we can always run out of money and so we are not ashamed to reach out and make sure we can secure their futures. We hope our plea can reach far and wide enough to fulfill the promise we have made to them. They fill our hearts ❤️ We try to fill their lives with everything they need and the promise of that forever. Thank you so much for your support! 🙏🏻

The daily challenges of keeping up with so many dogs is a mountain to climb everyday. Sometimes the weather adds more adversity to our days and it can feel like a relentless grind. Months pass quickly when the work never ends. A wicked Winter turned wet Spring and we are suddenly preparing to start the never ending action of Summer that seems to quickly turn into Fall and winter preps and the cycle continues. Our routine is only interrupted with the comings and goings of our canine housemates. When a dog finds his perfect forever home - we sit back and feel warmth in our hearts at the success. When we welcome a new dog into our fold - we are excited and grateful to offer a new wounded soul the opportunity to heal and find freedom from their past. When we lose a beloved soul, it takes some time to grieve and recover from the loss. No matter the new challenge- happy dogs playing outside on sunny days heal the heart everyday Always. ❤️

Sometimes I feel like a rescue dog myself.
I’m trying to find my place in this world of unpredictable people and circumstances that can always have a chance of being totally out of my control. I’m slow to trust because in the past people have feigned nice and then hurt - offered rewards and then dished out punishment based only on their own selfish desires and demands. I live each day like it’s a fresh start- forgetting the past and focusing only on one moment, and then another. I feel blessed by gentle weather and comfortable places to rest. I feel grateful for food that feeds me well and leaves me satisfied. I want for nothing when basic needs are met and balance is in tact. In rescue, there are always many- never only a few. The need never relents and the desperation of dogs about to lose their lives is palpable and inescapable. So we always try to help as many as we absolutely can. The result of this is big families of misfits relying on the stability of a couple or a few or a group of humans. Resources are always divided - time, money and all the things a dog needs in the world. Like an orphanage, rescue dogs learn to live among many other lost souls like themselves - all hoping for a home. Here we never want a dog that we have brought home to feel anything but content. Arriving with so much erroneous information to unpack and discard - these dogs need guidance daily to show them better ways to live. We want every dog to realize that they ARE home and never have to worry about change and challenge again - no turmoil or chaos - no reason to fight or flight. The two humans here, after all are rescue dogs themselves- committed to this environment we share and every moment of time we spend together. We have created this world - away from the whole world - to be honest with each other about how we feel - trying in every moment to be better - to find goodness wherever it arrives and to repel negativity to protect this world. These rescue dogs look to us to prove to them that this world can be enough for All of us. Every day that it is - is a blessing. ❤️

Lola is another rescue dog who found herself in a tight spot and needed safety to guarantee her future. Five year old Lola grew up happy in her adoptive home, but as it gradually grew to include two small children and then an accidental dog scrap lead to a neighbor getting bit - she was now a liability to a peaceful life. Lola needed a new beginning away from the stressors that were causing the chaos. Lola has been with us for almost 1 1/2 years now and she has settled right in. We love this sweet girl and are so happy we got to be her safety net in this world. With every new moment of happiness and each new day of stability, we have earned Lola’s trust and respect and have made this place her home. ❤️
