🐾 Chucky just needs a minute. Maybe you can give him one of yours...

At 1 year, 5 months old, Chucky can be a shy guy when the world feels new. Give him a little time, though, and that serious face turns into THIS face. 😁

He’s looking for a quieter, moderately active home where he can settle in, build confidence and let his personality come out at his own pace.

We don’t know yet how Chucky does with cats or children. Before heading home, he should meet all resident dogs and human companions to make sure everyone feels comfortable.

Today feels like a good day to make a new friend, and Chucky is patiently waiting.

While SHS's Everyday Adoption Center at Northpointe PetSmart, 9950 N. Newport Hwy is open today from 10 a.m.–6 p.m., friendly reminder that our main campus, admin and clinic departments are away for Labor Day.

The perfect name change doesn't exist... and then there was Shrimp. 🥹🧡

One thing you should know about our team is that we LOVE hearing what name adopters end up choosing for their forever friend. We couldn't have been more excited to learn that Tigger is now rightfully named Shrimp and living her best life.

Shrimp arrived in July 2025 from a partner rescue so not much was known about her other than the fact that she was 100% adorable!

Her family shares that Shrimp is the best cat they've ever met— sweet, cuddly, and a social butterfly. They recently celebrated her first birthday, and it's clear that both Shrimp and her family couldn't be happier to have found each other.

🎉 Congratulations to this purrfect match. Here's to a lifetime of joy, wet food cakes, and priceless hugs! 🧡

🐾

One night out can do a whole lot of good.

On Saturday, Nov. 14, FurrBall returns to The Davenport Grand for an evening of dinner, auctions, a little sparkle and a whole lot of heart behind it.

Because while FurrBall is a night to look forward to, what happens after the evening is the real reason we gather.

Every ticket, bid and generous moment helps Spokane Humane Society provide shelter, spay and neuter services, veterinary care, foster support and community resources, facilitate lifesaving transfers, and create second chances for animals who need us.

So, yes. We’d love for you to dress up, grab your people and make a night of it.

And we’d really love knowing you were there because saving lives is worth celebrating. 🧡

Oh, you didn’t leave town for Labor Day weekend? 👀
Interesting. Very interesting...

Hi, I’m Billie, and I happen to also be available this weekend. Coincidence? I’ll let you decide.

I’m a 1½-year-old lady, 63 pounds of ears, enthusiasm and what I consider to be an extremely reasonable amount of dog. I transferred to Spokane Humane Society from one of their shelter partners, and so far I’ve made it pretty clear that I’m a people girl. Attention? Yes. Snacks? Absolutely. Adventures? Where are we going?

I’ve also shown friendly, playful interest in other dogs, walk pretty nicely on leash (although sometimes there are VERY IMPORTANT things to sniff), redirect well and am quite eager to please. If you have a dog at home, bring them along for a meet-and-greet so we can see what we think of each other. How I do with children is still unknown, but happy to meet them too!

So if the rain changed your camping plans, you skipped the concerts, or you’re simply hanging around Spokane this Labor Day weekend…

I have an opening in my schedule. 😌🐾

Come meet me today at SHS's PetSmart Charities Northpointe PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center, 9950 N. Newport Hwy. Open daily, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Salt recently spent a little time in a home, and while it wasn’t ultimately her match, she came back with something pretty valuable: a whole lot more information about who she is. 🤍

And apparently, Salt is a pretty great roommate.

At just over a year and a half old, Salt is an energetic, people-loving girl who has lived with adults, kids, dogs and cats. She’s crate trained, sleeps through the night in her crate, walks on a leash and has plenty of young-dog energy to bring to the equation.

Salt loves people and would be happiest with a family ready for an active companion and plenty of things to do together. She’s done well with larger dogs, while smaller dogs may take a little more time and thoughtful introductions. She’s also lived with cats, though she’ll need some patience while everyone gets acquainted.

She’s still working on being comfortable when left alone and could use a little polish on her house training, but at not quite 2 years old, Salt still has plenty to learn.

What we know now? Salt is ready to be someone’s adventure buddy, couch companion and very enthusiastic participant in whatever you have planned. 🐾

Come meet her at our main campus: Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N. Havana St. Tuesday–Saturday, 1–5:30 p.m.

TABBY TAKEOVER

Stripes to the left. Stripes to the right. Tiny stripes. Big stripes. Stripes with white socks and white bibs. Stripes attached to cats who are fairly certain they are the main character.

It’s a full-on Tabby Caturday Takeover at our Northpointe PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center. Each has a personality entirely their own, and they’re all looking for someone to take over next. Perhaps your couch? Your bed? Your entire household?

Come see which tabby chooses you. 😌

Northpointe PetSmart, 9950 N. Newport Hwy. Open daily, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Happy Caturday!

What’s black and white and read all over? 👀

Hopefully, this post. 🖤🤍

Because brothers Pluto and Peter showed up dressed for the same occasion... and committed to finding their people.

🐾 Pluto — male, 11 months, mixed-breed medium
🐾 Peter — male, 11 months, mixed-breed medium

Same family. Same classic color palette. Two very handsome boys looking for homes of their own. Still learning about them as their history is a bit of a mystery. Come meet them in person! **They are not a bonded pair**

Both available at Northpointe PetSmart, 9950 N. Newport Hwy. Open daily, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

(ALL ADOPTED!) ☔ Rainy day + puppies. We can work with this. 🐾

And honestly, we’re grateful to see the rain around here. Thank the stars for every drop.

If your rainy-day plans could use a puppy detour, Scout, Pam and Stanley are all available for adoption today at our PetSmart Charities Everyday Adoption Center at Northpointe PetSmart.

Scout — female, 3 months, medium mixed breed. Sleek black coat, floppy ears and one very sweet little face.

Pam — female, 2 months, medium mixed breed. Ice-blue eyes are stealing the show.

Stanley — male, 2 months, medium mixed breed. With the kindest face.

Three puppies. One rainy Friday. This feels like a perfectly reasonable reason to change your weekend plans.

At Northpointe PetSmart, 9950 N. Newport Hwy. Open daily, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Update: ADOPTED! Where’s Waldo?

Well… we found him. And apparently he was waiting for sweater weather.

Waldo recently made his way to Spokane Humane Society from our friends through Okandogs, and this handsome 6-year-old is settling in while we get to know him.

So far, we know he’s an independent guy who also appreciates a good dose of affection. He’s friendly with people, walks with plenty of purpose, and seems to have a pretty sensible approach to other dogs. Basically, he’s got places to go, things to sniff and absolutely magnificent ears to point in their general direction.

At 6, Waldo may be a great match for a moderately active home looking for a sidekick who’s past the puppy stage but still ready to get out and explore.

We’re still learning about Waldo, including how he does with children, unsure about cats, but you can start your search today. 🔎🐾

Come find him at our PetSmart Charities Everyday Adoption Center at Northpointe PetSmart, 9950 N. Newport Hwy. Open daily, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
