We are not affiliated with the National Humane Society – we are independent. We offer low cost vaccinations, spay/neuter services and adoptions. Spokane Humane Society has been serving the Inland Northwest for over 125 years. Spokane Humane Society focuses on the adoption of companion animals, spay/neuters and vaccinations through our veterinary clinic for shelter animals, no-income clinic services for animals, and our foster care program.

A HUGE thank you to our community for participating in this year’s Parade of Paws!

Besides fundraising for animals in need ($46,000 raised of our $52,000 goal!), Parade of Paws brings our community of animal lovers together to create something priceless—connection. We hope you had a wonderful time, just as we did meeting you and your companions.

The funds we raised with your help allow us to keep taking in, caring for, and finding loving homes for animals in our community. Not only do the funds support homeless animals, but they also allow us to continue offering vital clinical services and the community pet food pantry to pets in our low-income community.

We’re ready to welcome our community of animal lovers for a morning of fun, food, vendors, activities, raffles, and our signature pledge walk!

🅿️ Parking is available in the grass field at Havana & Francis with volunteers on-site to help direct traffic.

We know we’ve been talking a lot about Parade of Paws lately (and for good reason, because events like this help fund the lifesaving work we do every day), but we don’t want to lose sight of the reason behind it all: the animals.

While we’ve been busy preparing for this weekend, some amazing dogs have been patiently waiting for their chance to be seen. (Pictured in order below).

A huge thank you to our Spokane Police Department for volunteering their time to join us as Pack Leaders for Spokane Humane Society’s 23rd Annual Parade of Paws tomorrow!

Leading our pledge walk at 10:00 AM will be:

They’ll also be bringing one of their armored vehicles and K9 vehicles for attendees to see up close.

Who’s excited for Parade of Paws tomorrow?!

Tyra Banks (F, 5yrs), Gideon (M, 6yrs), Piglet (M, 1yr), Bristol (F, 6yrs), and Rocky (M, 1yr) are all fitted and ready to strut their stuff at the parade pledge walk! These friendly tail waggers are all looking forward to a fun-filled morning at SHS’s main campus—and they'll be especially thrilled if they meet their forever family tomorrow.

You may notice these adoptable doggos wearing muzzles at Parade of Paws— and we’re here to tell you: that’s not a red flag, it’s just responsible dog parenting. It ensures that both the dog and those around them can have a pawsome time together.

* Muzzles aren’t just for “aggressive” dogs (that’s a myth).
* They’re like seatbelts—used out of caution, not because something is wrong.
* Many of our pups are still building confidence—and that’s OK!

So if you see a muzzled pup, show them some extra love (from a respectful distance), and know they’re just doing their best in this big, exciting world. We encourage our attendees to consider the same for their pups who are joining.

We are beyond excited to welcome Morgan Ashley this Saturday at Parade of Paws as our emcee!

Morgan is an evening news anchor and executive producer at NonStop Local KHQ-TV, where she also leads and mentors a team of rising journalists. Outside the newsroom, her heart belongs to animals in need.

After rescuing three beloved dogs herself, Morgan has advocated for and partnered with rescues and shelters, including her ongoing partnership with Spokane Humane Society, to help hundreds of animals find loving homes. Her goal? To make a positive impact in her community—one story, and one life, at a time.

Thank you so much for joining us in helping raise funds for animals at Spokane Humane Society! We are incredibly grateful for your support and love for our animals.

This exuberant 5-year-old pup is a simple, sweet girl. She loves rolling around in the grass, catching treats in the air, and laying her head and front paws on your lap (very lovely).
