A lot of people think socializing your dog means letting them say hi to every person or dog they come across... 👀 and it's just not true! I talked to 2 Sierra Vista dog trainers to bust that myth. Socializing includes exposure to different places, textures, noises, and smells to teach a dog to exist neutrally, confidently, and comfortably in various settings.

If I locked you in your backyard for weeks and said, "Don't worry, you have plenty of room!" you would probably have some opinions about that. 😅 That is why your dog needs walks, even if you have a big backyard! It's their version of gathering information about the world... similar to how we scroll social media or read the newspaper.

Backyards absolutely do have a place and use case - Echo and Mojo love playing ball during their drop-in visits. 😎
