‼️ FOUND OUR FOSTER HOME FOR TOBY‼️
🐾 EXPERIENCED FOSTER HOME NEEDED 🐾
Toby is being surrendered after his guardian suffered a traumatic accident. He is currently staying with extended family, but unfortunately the transition and environment have not been the right fit for him. The stress and upheaval have caused Toby to become reactive.
‼️Toby has received professional training‼️
Trainer notes: Toby worked on place command (going to a bed, crate, or designated spot and remaining there until released with “OK”), name recall, threshold boundaries, and general structure both in the home and on leash. He made wonderful progress with his reactivity and was no longer barking at strangers or people knocking at the door. However, he continued to struggle with aggression related to handling, as Toby is uncomfortable being touched.‼️
Toby is looking for a knowledgeable, patient home where he can be given the time and space to decompress and adjust at his own pace. He will thrive with positive reinforcement, gentle guidance, and an environment free of pressure or unrealistic expectations while he rebuilds trust and learns to feel safe again. Understanding and proper management will be essential, as Toby does have a bite history. Visitors and strangers must respect his boundaries and avoid approaching him, reaching toward him, or forcing interaction. Toby needs a calm, structured home where his space will be understood and advocated for.
Toby is 2 years old, healthy, recently neutered, and up to date on vaccines.
