RAW Mustangs Former Mustang Heritage Foundation TIP trainer, located in Scio Oregon. Specialize in gentling and training though building trust, respect, and good manners.

Follow along for updates on current horses in training, projects, and more. My business, RAW Mustangs, is the product of a lifelong dream to work with and train mustangs. Working with mustangs, however, is not a new concept for me. I got my first untouched mustang, Flicka, when I was just 13 years old, and to this day she is still a willing and trusting partner. Since Flicka I have gentled and worked with multiple mustangs as well as domestic bred horses. When working with mustangs I approach it as an opportunity to create trust and build a solid foundation for that horse to grow from and have a successful career in any discipline. Aside from gentling mustangs, I also host clinics of various disciplines to help my clientele and their horses continually build upon their skills. TIP Requirements:
Gentling requirements include, animals must be leading, loading in a trailer, allowing human contact for grooming, and picking up all 4 feet to be considered as ready for adoption. These are the minimum training requirements. More info on the TIP Program:

Are you looking for a true gem of a horse, one that will love everyone that she meets? Then Tollie is your girl! She’s gentle enough to give even the youngest member of your family a ride. She loves kids, scratches and to be pampered. She’s a horse you can lead your kid around on, give beginner lessons on, or put the most experienced rider on and watch her shine.

From day one, when we picked her up from the corrals, she’s been quiet and easily going. It didn’t take long at all to get our hands on her and once we did she was hooked. Gentling her was a breeze! Probably one of the easiest horses I’ve ever gentled. We’ve taken her all the way, from wild to riding and more. She truly is a horse that you can send your kid out to catch and have fun with, without having to worry about either one. She doesn’t buck, bite, kick, bolt or any other nonsense. She has perfect ground manners, stands to be groomed, bathed, tacked up, and for the farrier. She has a lot of ground work and knows her stuff. She’s done a lot of obstacles and desensitizing to lot’s of different things. She knows all her body maneuvers (hip, shoulder, side passing, lateral flexion and etc.) and gives to pressure wherever pressure is applied. She round pens and lunges with no fuss. She stands while mounting and will even pick you up at the fence, mounting block or any other object you need to get on with. Tollie has a solid walk, trot, canter, understands verbal and leg cues, will turn on a dime and stop on one too. Knows all of her maneuvers under saddle and does them quite well, she will collect and carry herself and look really pretty doing it. You can ride her over tarps, bridges, or any other obstacle that you ask her to, you can carry a flag, swing a rope, open a gate, drag a tire, pony another horse, pick up your buddy off the fence or any other thing that you ask her to do she is willing to try it. We have rode her out through the field and down the trail solo and with other horses. She has been to Mountain Trail obstacle courses, rode in different areas and been on numerous trail rides. She knows how to hobble and keeps still while hobbled in open spaces.

Tollie is a boss mare in the herd and will remind her herd mates, she’s the boss. She’s generally an easy keeper as long as there is free choice feed in front of her, at all times. She does have a crooked jaw, it has never caused her any issues carrying the bit, eating or anything else. The vet has looked at it, and she gets her teeth done once a year. It is mostly just a cosmetic thing that you wouldn’t notice unless you looked at her face or in her mouth. She can be occasionally tender footed, especially after a fresh hoof trim. If she’s going to do a lot of riding on gravel and hard surfaces, boots or shoes might be helpful on her.

I could see her really excelling being a family horse, giving lessons to the little ones, going on trail rides, and riding around in the arena.
I would not recommend her as a gaming horse or cowboying off of her. Tollie is a sweetheart and deserves a home that will appreciate and love her as much as she will appreciates and love her people.

Asking. $9,500

Please feel free to ask any questions! I also have a ton of videos and pictures of her! 😊

Since I haven’t posted much in a while, thought I would share one of the current horses, we have in training right now. Some of you might already know him, his name is Kronk! He is in for a 90-day c**t start, and is impressing us with his steady progress with every session.
