Julie completed a 3 week board and train with me this past winter. At the time, she was struggling with significant social anxiety and had become fear reactive, even growling at her own owners.
When dogs live in that state of mind, their world becomes very small. Every new experience feels overwhelming, and opportunities that should be enjoyable become sources of stress.
Today, Julie is living a very different life.
She’s joining her family for café outings, enjoying more walks, and even spending time on the lake aboard the family boat. Experiences that once would have been difficult, or impossible, for her are now becoming part of her everyday life.
That’s what good training is really about. Not just obedience, but expanding a dog’s world and giving them the confidence to participate in it.
I’m incredibly proud of how far you’ve come, Julie.
