Licensing, Free Vaccinations, and Microchipping!

Don’t miss out on this opportunity-available while supplies last-for residents in the unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County!

Services Offered:
- Free pet microchipping sponsored by Animals aRe First Fund (ARFF)
- Pet ownership resources
- Dog licensing: To complete your pet’s license, please provide proof of current rabies vaccination and spay/neuter for discounted pricing. If you don’t have documents at the event, you’ll have 60 days to submit them. Rabies vaccines are available onsite if needed.
- Free vaccinations sponsored by ARFF through the Banfield Community Care Grant (FVRCP, Rabies, Bordetella, DA2PP, Leptospirosis). Proof of the previous rabies vaccination is required if you would like to receive a 3-year rabies vaccine instead of a 1-year vaccine.

Please enter your address in our service area map at animalcare.sbcounty.gov/serviceareas/ (link in bio) to see if your pet qualifies. During the event, please bring a photo ID to verify your residency. If your photo ID isn’t current, a recent utility bill can also be used as proof of residence.

Please ensure dogs are kept on a leash and cats are brought in individual carriers.

Meet Zorro!

Zorro is a sweet two‑year‑old shepherd mix who is familiar with the commands “sit” and “lay down.” He loves catching treats mid‑air and never says no to a good belly rub.

Zorro plays very well with his kennel-mate Bear; he’ll flip over onto his back when they’re wrestling and let Bear “win.” He’s great with taking turns and making things “fair”.

Zorro enjoys playing fetch, tug‑of‑war, and spending time with people.

On Monday, June 1, four volunteer groomers came together to give 21 shelter pets a fresh start ahead of California Adopt-a-Pet Day on June 6.

Thanks to the generous support of our amazing grooming partners, including Puppy Love Cutz, David’s Mobile Grooming, PAWS at Main, and Lyssa’s Mobile Grooming, every pet enjoyed a well‑deserved grooming session to help them look and feel their very best. We give special thanks to PAWS at Main for organizing and coordinating this wonderful effort.

Join us on Saturday, June 6, as the Big Bear and Devore Animal Shelters participate in the third annual California Adopt‑a‑Pet Day, joining more than 150 shelters statewide in offering free pet adoptions.

The Big Bear and Devore Animal Shelters will host a special celebration featuring free pet adoptions all day, a photobooth, vendors, and resource tables from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Adoptions are FREE for qualifying pets and include complimentary spaying or neutering, a microchip, and age-appropriate vaccinations.

San Bernardino County Animal Care is partnering with The PAW Mission to provide free spay and neuter services in unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County for eligible Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return (TNVR) community cats and owned pets.

Qualifying pets will receive the following free services:
• Spay/neuter surgery
• Vaccinations
• Ear-tipping of cats for TNVR identification

This event will be held on Sunday, June 7, at Lucerne Valley Community Center, located at 33187 Old Woman Springs Rd, Lucerne Valley. Registration opens Monday, June 1, at 12 p.m. at thepawmission.org.

A $20 refundable deposit is required for each appointment.

To qualify, the residence address must be located within the San Bernardino County Animal Care service areas.

San Bernardino County Animal Care contract cities and incorporated cities are not eligible.
