The Devore and Big Bear Animal Shelters will be closed to the public on Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day.

Shelter staff will remain on-site to ensure all pets continue receiving the care they need during this time. Althought the shelter will be closed, pets may be viewed on our site anytime at animalcare.sbcounty.gov.

San Bernardino County Animal Care is partnering with The PAW Mission to provide free spay and neuter services in unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County for eligible Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return (TNVR) community cats and owned pets.

Qualifying pets will receive the following free services:
-Spay/neuter surgery
-Vaccinations
-Ear-tipping of cats for TNVR identification

This event will be held on Tuesday, September 8, at Kessler Park in Bloomington, located at 18401 Jurupa Ave., Bloomington. Registration opens Monday, August 31, at 12 p.m. at thepawmission.org.

A $20 refundable deposit is required for each appointment.

To qualify, the residence address must be located within the San Bernardino County Animal Care service areas. View our service area map at https://animalcare.sbcounty.gov/serviceareas/ to check eligibility. San Bernardino County Animal Care contract cities and incorporated cities are not eligible.

Please contact your city directly to learn about the animal care programs and veterinary services available.

A huge thank‑you to FOX Good Day LA for giving Monet her moment in the spotlight on Fox Furry Friday! 🐾❤️

Monet was more than ready to steal some hearts—and she absolutely did. This sweet, three‑year‑old Plott Hound mix, with her beautiful brindle coat and easygoing, genuinely gentle personality, has so much love to give. She’s calm, settles in quietly, and is happiest simply being near you. She enjoys toys, water, and leisurely walks on leash. She’s food‑motivated, knows “sit,” and gets along wonderfully with other dogs—especially those with a softer play style.

Monet has been patiently waiting at the shelter for nearly 50 days, and she’s hoping her TV appearance will help her finally find the family she’s been dreaming of. She’s charming, affectionate, and so ready to begin her next chapter with a forever family.
