Our Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Voucher Program helps qualifying residents access affordable spay and neuter services for their pets!

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

📅 WHEN: Appointments are released on the 27th of every month at 8:00 AM.

🚫 PLEASE DO NOT LINE UP AT THE SHELTER! Appointments are scheduled online. Standing in line is NOT necessary and does not help you secure an appointment.

📍 WHO QUALIFIES?
Residents of San Bernardino, Rialto, Fontana, Grand Terrace, Loma Linda, and Colton.

🐶🐱 APPOINTMENT LIMITS:

ONE appointment per household, per month.
Up to TWO pets per household, per month.
Please only schedule appointments for yourself. If helping someone else, use THEIR email address or clearly explain in the appointment notes.

IMPORTANT: Appointments are extremely limited and fill quickly due to high demand. Scheduling an appointment is required to receive voucher assistance.

Meet Lochlan, our Salted Caramel Mocha — a handsome bully mix with a BIG personality and an even bigger heart once you’ve earned your way into it. 🤎

Right now, shelter life is getting to him. Lochlan is experiencing kennel stress and is currently listed as RESCUE PULL ONLY, which means this particular fall beverage needs a rescue to step up and help him decompress outside of the shelter environment.

Because underneath all that stress?

There’s a boy who can be incredibly outgoing and social with people — and when Lochlan loves you, HE REALLY LOVES YOU. 🥹

We’re talking full commitment.
Stage-five clinger.
“Oh, you’re going to the bathroom? WE’RE going to the bathroom.” energy. 😂

🐾 His people? OBSESSED.
🥰 Affection? Bring it on.
🛋️ Personal space? Never heard of her.

Lochlan would prefer to be your one and only pet — all the attention, all the snacks and the entire couch, thank you very much.

He may need a little more understanding than some of the other items on our Fall Menu, but sometimes the dogs having the hardest time in the shelter are the ones who have the most to show us once they’re given a chance outside of it. 🤎

Our vouchers are primarily issued by appointment through our online scheduler.
📅 New appointments are released on the 27th of every month at 8 AM for the upcoming month. **Appointments fill quickly!**
🚫 Please DO NOT line up outside the shelter on the 27th. Lining up does not guarantee a voucher.
🐾IMPORTANT:
• Maximum 2 vouchers per household/month
• Duplicate appointments will be cancelled
• Must be 18+to pick up a voucher
• Bring a current bill as proof of address
• Have your contact information + your pet’s name, species, breed, age & color ready

📢 A Quick Office Update

We sincerely apologize, but our Intervention Counselor is currently recovering from pneumonia and has been advised to rest. ❤️‍🩹 Because of this, our office will be closed through Monday, August 31, and we will return to normal office hours on Tuesday, September 1.

💙 IMPORTANT: Our September low-cost spay & neuter voucher appointments will still be released Thursday, August 27 at 8:00 AM, as planned.

🎉🐾 HESPERIA, WE’RE HERE! 🐾🎉

We’ve got some BIG news to share… The Lange Foundation’s Intervention Programs have officially set up shop at the Hesperia Animal Shelter! 🥳❤️

That’s right, Hesperia! We’re thrilled to bring our mission of keeping pets home and out of the shelter even closer to the families who need us most. 🏡🐶🐱

And we couldn’t be more excited to have our fabulous Intervention Counselor, Christina, leading the way! 💕 She’ll be available Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 AM–5:00PM to connect pet owners with resources and assistance.

🐾 For now, our primary focus in Hesperia will be our LOW-COST SPAY & NEUTER VOUCHER PROGRAM! 🐾

Just like our existing Intervention Program, vouchers are being issued BY APPOINTMENT. This helps us keep wait times and crowding to a minimum—especially during these extreme summer temperatures. ☀️🥵

💔 At just 8 weeks old, Annie had already endured more pain than any puppy ever should.
She was found discarded like trash near a Target dumpster, trembling in fear and pain. Her horrific injury was already at least a week old, and she was so severely infested with fleas and ticks that she had become dangerously anemic.
When our Intervention Counselor Krista saw Annie carried into our shelter partner late Friday afternoon, there was no way we could turn away. ❤️
Annie was rushed to one of our veterinary partners, where she needed hospitalization, treatment for severe dehydration, and a blood transfusion to save her life.
X-rays revealed a complicated fracture of her lower jaw, along with a devastating injury where her lip had been pulled away from her jaw. She will need reconstructive surgery and potentially additional procedures as she grows.
We may never know what happened to Annie. But somehow, through all of this, her spirit remains unbroken. 🥹❤️
Because this little girl LOVES people. She loves attention. And apparently, she REALLY loves to eat! 😂
She is fighting. She is healing. And she is showing us every day that she wants to live.
Our hope is that with the medical care and love she deserves, Annie will grow into a happy, healthy dog who will never again know abandonment, fear, or pain.
But saving Annie is only possible because people choose to help. Veterinary care, hospitalization, transfusions, surgery, medications, and everything else needed to save animals like Annie add up quickly.
As a nonprofit Intervention Program, we rely on our community to help us say YES when an animal desperately needs someone to step in.

For Annie, this isn’t the end of her story.

What a pupdate that we get to share!! 😍😍😍 A few weeks ago we rescued a puppy named Zion from our shelter partner that had suffered more than any living being should suffer, let alone at just 5 months old. He was in pain, anemic, and broken down as we rushed him to our veterinarian. He received urgent care and was prescribed a heavy dose of TLC, along with medical care and my goodness look at him go! Tomorrow he will receive surgery and continue the healing process as he prepares for his forever family! Thank you to everyone that donated to his care and shared his story, we are happy to share a positive pupdate of our boy!!

We have some VERY exciting news! 🩵
Within the next week, the Lange Foundation Intervention Program will be expanding to serve residents of Hesperia! 🐶🐱

Our mission has always been simple: keep pets home and out of the shelter. 💜

As we get started in Hesperia, our primary focus will be providing low-cost spay & neuter vouchers to Hesperia residents to help make this important care more accessible to our community.
But that’s not all! 🐾
Our Intervention Counselor will also be available Tuesday–Saturday during normal shelter hours at the Hesperia Animal Shelter, 11042 Santa Fe Ave, Hesperia, CA 92345 to:
✨ Provide resources 
✨ Answer questions
✨ Help pet owners find solutions when they’re struggling

We know there are so many Hesperia families who love their pets deeply but may need a little help finding affordable resources. We’re excited to be there for you! 💜
