A Visit from Dusty....
Last Friday, we decided Dusty (17 years old) was ready to be free of pain and confusion that engulfed her for the last couple of years. She came to us when someone dropped her and another canine friend over a fence at AC. Dusty (aka Pancake) came to Harmony where she was able to chill out for the next 3 years. We helped her through vestibular disease, joint (hip) weakness, digestive challenges and dementia.

Thank you Dusty for hanging out with us, showing us perseverance, playfulness (even at an old age), trust, and love....and thanks for visiting me in my dreams last night.

FOUND: From 3889 Browns Mill Road. Is this your sweet Beagle boy? About 16 pounds, between two and five years old. Nails are trimmed. Coat is sleek, and he is well fed. Hoping we can get him home! Please call the shelter at 434-821-4416.

Sweet little Cora
Cora came to us a few short months ago; deaf and with a chronic breathing issue that would not quit. She had already conquered other health challenges so it seemed that her nasal problems would go away after consistent medical care. Unfortunately, nothing helped and now she can breathe and hear in heaven.

Thank you Cora for being with us, even for a short time. I will always treasure the comfort you shared with your cuddles, meow's, and stretched out paws (as if to say "I love you too.").

MEET Jasmine:
We are fostering Jasmine for FOAC-CC and since having her we have learned that This very sweet elder cat at 12 yrs would be a wonderful chill companion. She is in good health and is updated with vaccines. Jasmine just wants love; she will listen and take all your worries away.

Harmony will be at the 100 Mile Yard Sale Oct 2nd and 3rd:
We will be at our usual location (two doors down from the rescue) on Browns Mill Rd next Friday and Saturday. We have some cool items to spark old memories or create new ones. Stop by and say hi; maybe pick up a holiday gift.

Over 300 pcs of jewelry, over 300 CDs/DVDs/VHSs, various collectibles (i.e.; AnnaLee dolls) small furniture, household items, drink cooler, holiday items, etc.

Patches has her wings.....
It has been two weeks since Patches had to leave us. I keep thinking about our experience with her. Patches and her owner were both in hospice care. Its a weird feeling to not be able to "fix" the illness Patches had. Instead, we wrapped our heads around the best care we can give, brush her, give her the favorite treats, hold/hug her, and talk to her. We learn so much from each of the animals that come in for hospice or palliative care. It is not easy and sometimes one can just scream. Then, I know the animals are here for a short time. In that time, they make us smile, laugh; they give us unconditional love. For that, I wouldn't trade anything for the experience. Thank you Patches, again, for the joy.

Courtesy post: MILLIE needs to new home!
Millie needs a new home due to her owners change of life situations. She originally was a stray; loves attention and people. Millie is tolerant of cats (might be a bit afraid of them). She loves walks; does well on a leash. Although Millie loves the outside, she does love to snuggle on the couch. Millie has been MC'd, up to date on shots, and vet believes she is spayed. She is approximately 12 yrs old and 30 lbs.

Not sure how accustomed she is with other dogs. The best home would be a large fenced area or farm with lots of room to explore. Oh and extra attention for Millie! If you have space and room in your heart to give to Millie please call Scott at 434.610.7528.

MISSING: Timber and Tau
This father & son duo broke out of their kennel in the Eastward Dr / Rt 29 Altavista area last night. They are a husky mix breed. They have harnesses on. Timber is the husky looking one and Tau is the brindle one. Timber is more interested in playing and exploring while Tau would love attention. Both are overall friendly.

Missing senior dachshund. Candlers mtn. 2500 block Sunnymeade Rd. Missing from yard Saturday afternoon. Sight and hearing impaired. Named Maddie, sweet girl.
