Meet Smokey.
Before WARF Smokey was at a shelter kept in a kennel on a sedation amount of Trazodone and Gabapentin. He's just a dog that needs a reason to live. We cannot lock dogs away in a kennel heavily drug them in hopes everything will just magically get better. They won't. If anything, things will only get worse.

Using play, we not only burn energy, but we give the dog something to live for. We can build rules and structure around that play that will go into every aspect of that dog's life. If you have cooperation, you can stop the jumping the biting the lunging and barking. You can get that sit, down, heal walk and recall.
Offer nothing to the dog you will get nothing in return.

Willow pulled from Lyon County Animal Services is currently in foster with me through WARF - Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation - Northern Nevada.
Willow has Pannus. An eye condition that makes her eyes react to UV rays causing scaring and potentially blindness. She requires eye drops once per day typically in the morning and UV protective goggles when she's outside exposed to sunlight. The eye drops run approximately $40 per month.
She is great on and off leash good with people dogs and cats. You can find more videos and pics of her on my page.

As I suspected the goggles are what's holding play back. We're going to get there, and she'll forget all about the goggles being on.

Finally got some really good play from Willow. So far, we've only had glimpses of play indoors but nothing outside. The UV index was 1 this morning while it was raining so we left the goggles in the car. Decided to bring out my secret weapon Leeloo to try and encourage some play.
It was a great first play session and we once again broke the dog training rules and met an unknown dog.

Anaka jumped out of a car window to go attack another dog.
We worked on her reactivity and helping the owner get passed some PTSD. Anaka has met three dogs now. Today it was Willow's (my current foster/board and train) turn to meet Anaka.
