Four U.S. cases of New World screwworm have been confirmed in Texas: three calves and one dog. Because of this incursion, Mexico is now prohibiting many animals—including pet dogs—from traveling into the country from any U.S. state.

According to the FDA, Listeria monocytogenes was detected in all unopened product samples tested by state laboratories. Several samples also tested positive for Salmonella and Campylobacter jejuni. The testing was initiated following a consumer complaint involving a dog illness.

The expanded recall includes all Raaw Energy dog food products manufactured between July 17, 2025, and December 23, 2025, as well as one lot of Beef and Turkey Medley manufactured on March 31, 2026.

The FDA also reported receiving additional consumer complaints involving illnesses in animals that had consumed the recalled products.

🎆 Fireworks season is approaching! 🎆

If your pet experiences anxiety, panic, or noise phobia during fireworks and thunderstorms, please plan ahead and request medications BEFORE the 4th of July holiday. Appointment availability becomes very limited as the holiday gets closer.

Please note:
📌 Colorado state law requires that pets have a current veterinary exam and valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) before prescription medications can be prescribed or refilled.

If your pet is overdue for an exam, please schedule as soon as possible so we can discuss the safest and most appropriate options to help keep them calm and comfortable during fireworks season.

Common signs of noise phobia may include:
• Pacing
• Panting
• Trembling
• Hiding
• Vocalizing
• Destructive behavior
• Trying to escape

Early planning helps keep pets safer and less stressed during the holiday. 🇺🇸🐾

🍔 Keep pets away from BBQ foods like bones, onions, grapes, desserts, and alcohol
🎆 Fireworks can be frightening — create a calm, secure indoor space for pets
🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car, even for a few minutes

As a mobile house call veterinary service, payment is due at the time services are rendered. For safety, efficiency, and record keeping purposes, I only accept debit or credit card payments. Cash and checks are not accepted.

Please understand that my business policies are in place to protect both myself and my practice. Disrespectful behavior, hateful language, or cursing at me regarding these policies will not be tolerated and may result in refusal of future services.

Owning a pet is both a privilege and a lifelong responsibility. Veterinary care is an important part of that commitment from birth through end-of-life care. While house call veterinary services offer added convenience and personalized care, I understand they may not fit every budget. If my services are outside your financial comfort level, I am always happy to help direct you toward lower-cost veterinary resources in the area that may better suit your needs.
