With the help of Nate and D Farm School (look at what they’ve started growing!), the study tray comparing peat seed starting mix vs. peat-free wool pellet seed starting mix was planted.

Will keep them inside my house for a bit, then cover and introduce outside as it warms up. 🍀

Directions for Wool Pellet Use/Application:

Multi use for gardens, potted plants, or fields

Gardens: Scatter around plants and work into soil, or place a pellet in next to seeds as you are starting

Current potted plants: Sprinkle a handful around the plant and work into root-level of soil with pencil or finger, water to open up pellets.

Newly potted plants: Work ½ cup of pellets into 1 gallon of soil, approx 1:6-8 ratio

Fields: Work into the soil at a ratio of 1 lb per 64-100 square feet, depending on the health of the soil.

A quart of pellets can cover approximately 10 square feet or 8 gallons of soil.
