Courtesy Post: Meet Brody and Bruno

We're sharing this for a family in Reno who needs to rehome their two boys due to a change in housing.
Brody is a 6 year old tan and white Husky and Pit Bull mix who loves cuddles, fetch, and a good chew toy.
Bruno is a 6 year old dark brown and white Boxer and Pit Bull mix whose tail never stops wagging when he sees his people.

Both are house and crate trained, know their basic commands, and are great with kids. They'd each do best as an only dog or with smaller dogs. Both are neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

If you're not able to adopt, sharing this post is one of the best ways to help. Brody and Bruno are not in our care, so please direct all questions and applications through their listings.

Hey, Jude! 😍

Jude is a young, handsome Collie with a whole lot of personality. He's confident, social, silly, and genuinely affectionate. He's happiest when he gets to run and play fetch, then flop down for some serious lounging and cuddle time. Tennis balls, squeaky toys, plush toys, puzzles, chews, and water are all on his list of favorite things.

Jude is still young and learning his manners, so he'll thrive with someone who can keep up with him. Plenty of daily exercise helps him stay calm and focused.

With other dogs, Jude can be a little loud when he first meets them, but after a walk and a good sniff he does great. He does well with larger dogs and is still being evaluated with smaller ones. He's very interested in cats, so for now we're recommending a cat free home while we continue testing.

Jude needs an active home with a yard and a confident adult who is excited to keep working on training with him. He'd do best with kids over 16 and with someone who is home often, since he doesn't love being left alone for long periods. He already has the personality to be someone's best friend. He just needs the right guide to help him get there.

Age: 1 year
Weight: 72 lbs
Other Dogs: Good with larger dogs; can be vocal at first meeting but settles quickly; still testing with smaller dogs
Cats: No cats for now (very interested, still testing)
Kids: Best with children over 16
Home Type: Active home with a yard; someone home often
Handler: Experienced, confident adult comfortable with a large, strong dog
Known Commands: Sit
Leash Manners: Working on loose leash training
Good to Know: Playful "air chomper." Loves water, fetch, and cuddles. Great in the car. Secure fencing preferred.

If you are interested in adopting Jude please fill out our online application at highsierraanimalrescue.org. Once your application has been reviewed and approved we will work with you to schedule an appointment.
Please no "drop-ins" to view dogs without an appointment. All High Sierra Animal Rescue dogs are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate shots, micro-chipped, and more!

Coco would like to highlight all of her best perks in this post ❤️

She's an adult girl who still loves to get out and move, but she won't ask for more than you can give. She's house-trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and lights up for a car ride. Coco bonds deeply with her people, and she balances that with a nice streak of independence, so you'll get sweet, affectionate moments along with a companion who's comfortable doing her own thing.

Everyone here adores her, and we know she's going to make someone incredibly happy.

Age: 8 years
Weight: 63
Other dogs: previously lived with large male dogs. She is sometimes selective. We do dog intros for all of our potential adopters. She doesn't love overly active dogs in her space.
Cats: No
Children: Presumed to do well. Can be excitable when meeting new people but is a very sweet girl.
Coco has some resource guarding tendencies that we are happy to help her future adopted with. Our staff works with her on this and she's making great progress.

If you are interested in adopting Coco please read more and fill out our online application at highsierraanimalrescue.org. Once your application has been reviewed and approved we will work with you to schedule an appointment.
Please no "drop-ins" to view dogs without an appointment.

All High Sierra Animal Rescue dogs are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate shots, micro-chipped, tested for heart worm, given heart worm preventative medication each month, and de-wormed

Prize Drawing update! 🎉

All of our Pints for Pups prize winners have been contacted and we're working on getting prizes into hands - whether that's pickup, delivery, or mail.

So far, between the prize drawing, general donations, and a case of w**e generously donated by Lost Sierra W**e Co (offered at a suggested $45 per bottle), we've raised a little over $4,000 for the dogs of HSAR, with more still to come.

Huge thanks to everyone who entered, whether you joined us at The Brewing Lair or supported online from afar, we couldn't do it without you.

Stay tuned for more events coming up! 🐾

Pints for Pups! 💫🍻💫

What a wonderful time ❤️🐶❤️

This event was a success thanks to our friends Susan and Rich at the Brewing Lair The Brewing Lair

With help from:

A wonderful crowd of volunteers willing to help put on the event and look after 4 dogs from HSAR - Glenn, Birdie, Leah, and Kermit. They all did exceptionally well and thoroughly enjoyed their time under the pines with people who were thrilled to meet them. 🐾

All of the supporters who made it through road construction to be there with us to raise a glass and celebrate second chances. We also send a world of thanks to the supporters who couldn't be there in person but still contributed to the day through our online prize drawing entries.

To those of you who entered our prize drawing: we'll be contacting our winners Monday, Sept 14th, and will arrange pick up, delivery, or mailing of prizes.

We loved seeing old and new friends of the rescue, and especially loved seeing some graduates of HSAR. 🎓

For information about custom engraved HSAR water bottles and more please reach out to Tim! For the HSAR logo bottles: they are $30 each with an additional $10 for a custom engraving (your name or even your dogs name) and that $10 will be donated back to the rescue thanks to Tim! We will do some additional posts to promote this lovely idea!

Thank you all for another fabulous event! 🍻
