Olaf has officially been cleared for tunnel duty 🐰🔎

A couple of weeks ago we got E. cuniculi serology for Olaf and his results just came back negative.

E. cuniculi (often shortened to EC) is a protozoan parasite that can cause clinical signs in rabbits, and one of the tricky things about it is that symptoms can vary quite a bit. Changes in litter box habits, recurring digestive issues, cataracts, head tilt, balance or other neurological changes can sometimes be associated with EC – but they can also have other causes.

A positive test doesn’t necessarily mean a rabbit is sick. Many rabbits can carry E. cuniculi without ever developing noticeable symptoms.

Because results can take over two weeks to come back, it can be helpful to get EC serology at the onset of symptoms – or even before any symptoms are present.

Now that we have his results back, Olaf can get back to his regularly scheduled tunnel bunspections ✅
