Blue Water Dog Rescue is a nonprofit 501(c)3 volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing large dogs, with a special emphasis on misunderstood dogs like bully breeds. Blue Water Dog Rescue is a unique rescue pairing its dogs with fosters and volunteers who are in recovery from drugs and alcohol in partnership with sober living houses located in South Florida. This relationship

between our dog and our volunteers creates a bond that allows people with addiction who have struggled to take care of themselves in the past. Having a purpose higher than the “I” builds self-esteem as our tribe learns to pay kindness forward by taking care of our dogs who need their love, patience and discipline. This symbiotic relationship offers an opportunity where the dog rehabilitates the foster and the foster rehabilitates the dog. While being fostered in our care, we provide the dogs with love, safe housing,veterinary care including spay/neutering and behavioral training while they await placement with their new family to ensure long term success. At Blue Waters Dog Rescue our mission and purpose is to fight for the underdog. This mission is not just words but the mantra we live by daily. People in recovery know what it’s like to be the ultimate underdog and to triumph over adversity, our rescues having come from neglect and abuse can do the same. Blue Water Dog Rescue was founded in 2016 by the President of the Board, Tiffany Skuraton. As a bully breed owner, she had a dream to change the public’s perception of this misunderstood breed, and to try to help save as many of them as possible from euthanization. Tiffany, a former addict, had founded a recovery residence called Blue Waters in 2015, believing that maintaining a clean and sober atmosphere in which to work the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous is the foundation to lasting sobriety, supporting confidence, self-worth, and the motivation necessary for a healthy return to conventional living and mainstream sobriety. She took this same philosophy to animal rescue by providing a safe and healthy environment for her rescue dogs, pairing the dogs with fosters that lived at her recovery residences, thus rehabilitating them and giving them a chance to be adopted by a forever family. Since its inception, Blue Water Dog Rescue has grown into a 501 c3, and has saved the lives of over 500 animals, while providing a therapeutic outlet for residents of Blue Waters recovery houses. 💔 PLEASE HELP US SAVE DENVER 💔

This adorable little baby is Denver, and today he needs our village more than ever. 🙏🐾

Denver was living on the streets of Miami, being fed wherever he could find a safe place between a few houses. Thankfully, one of our amazing volunteers stepped in, picked him up, and opened her home to foster him. ❤️

For the past two weeks, Denver has been safe, loved, fed, and doing well. We thought his life was finally taking a turn for the better. 🥺

But this morning, everything changed. 💔

Denver began having episodes that appear to possibly be focal seizures. We don't know exactly what is happening yet, and we are terrified for this sweet baby. He is currently at Coral Ridge Animal Hospital, where the veterinary team is treating him and trying to figure out what is causing these episodes.

This is the part of rescue that breaks our hearts. We save them from the streets, give them a safe place to land, and then suddenly we're faced with an emergency we weren't prepared for. 💔

We desperately need our village right now. 🙏

Our rescue is already stretched incredibly thin, and Denver's emergency care is adding another bill we simply don't know how we're going to cover. But we cannot let money determine whether this little boy gets the care he needs.

This sweet baby was found alone on the streets of Miami, and his finder has been desperately trying to help him. Unfortunately, they cannot keep him.

When they contacted Miami-Dade Animal Services, they were told to release him back onto the streets where he was found. 💔

But how can you knowingly put a sweet, innocent dog back out there to fend for himself?! His finder refuses to abandon him, but they are running out of options and NEED HELP NOW. 😭🙏

This precious boy is dog-friendly, cat-friendly AND kid-friendly! 🐶🐱❤️👧

He deserves so much more than the streets. He deserves a safe place to sleep, a full belly, a loving family, and someone who will never give up on him.

🚨 WE ARE DESPERATELY LOOKING FOR A FOSTER OR, EVEN BETTER, A FOREVER HOME! 🚨

Zoey is a beautiful 9-month-old Blue Nose weighing about 45 pounds who’s ready to find her forever family!

She is up to date on her vaccines and is scheduled to be spayed next week. Zoey has been reported to be dog-friendly and kid-friendly. While she’s unsure about cats, one thing we do know is… she definitely isn’t a fan of ducks! 🦆😂

Joey was found by a local police officer and is currently staying in boarding while she waits for someone to give her the loving home she deserves. Lets get Zoey out of boarding and into a home🙏

💔 our hearts shattered as we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Buttercup. What we hoped would be a treatable illness turned into the heartbreaking discovery of a large tumor in her abdomen. There was nothing more we could do except give her the peaceful goodbye she deserved.

Buttercup was so deeply loved, and the silence she leaves behind is immeasurable. She touched so many hearts during her time with us, and we will miss her more than words can ever express.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who donated, prayed, shared her story, and supported her. Your kindness meant the world to us and to our sweet girl.

Run free, Buttercup. Until we meet again, sweet angel. 🌈🐾❤️
