Tractor Supply got ahold of us last week and asked if we’d like to be part of their Animal Days Event! We absolutely said yes, and are so thankful for their gracious invitation 💗

So far, we have sent home 4 kittens who qualified for our Foster-To-Adopt program!!!

We have two sweet baby boys left, and we’ll be here until 2 pm today! Come see us at the Pocatello Tractor Supply…we’re next to the chicken feed 😍

🇺🇸 Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms. Their courage, service, and selflessness gave us the ability to live, love, build our communities, and continue doing the work that matters most.

As we spend time with family, friends, and the pets who make our lives brighter, we remember that this day is more than the start of summer. It is a day of gratitude, reflection, and remembrance.

🌟 We have been getting a lot of messages asking about Baby Isabella, and how she’s doing…

1. She’s quite the snuggler, and needs to be laying on, sitting on, sleeping on, or at the very least touching her human in some way shape or form.

2. She is VERY curious about phones, and the sounds and visuals that come from them.

3. She remains underweight, however is gaining a little bit every single day.

4. We are still giving subq fluids once a day, but her dehydration is getting quite a bit better!

5. She is also getting daily probiotics, and other critical to good health vitamins…therefore getting really cute bouts of kitten energy for short times during the day.

Keep praying 🌸

🏳️ Smitten Kitten Rescue is officially CLOSED for any new intakes until further notice 🏳️

Sadly, our rescue is unable to take any further intakes, as we are about TWENTY kittens over capacity 😩

Since kitten season began, we have been getting more and more calls, texts, and messages, with people who need our assistance with stray kittens, newborn kittens, mama cats with kittens, and orphan kittens. Normally, this is not an issue, but we are currently unable to keep up with the ever-growing demand.

Not only are we out of room, we are running out of supplies, food, litter, vaccines, microchips, etc. In addition to all that, it’s becoming more difficult to find enough time in the day to ensure each and every one of them have the attention, love, cleanliness, and enrichment that they deserve.

At this moment, we have nearly 60 cats and kittens in our care.

As soon as our babies are old enough, and have had their FVRCP and their boosters, they will qualify to go into a Foster-To-Adopt situation. This is FANTASTIC to open up space, however we are still medically responsible for them until all their medical has been completed.

Contrary to what some believe, We do not get money from the city/county, or state to care for these helpless kittens. We are a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit, & count on donations from our amazing community to fund the round the clock care that we provide.

We are considered volunteers, and do not get paid for our services. We work tirelessly to fundraise for enough money and supplies to save as many lives as we possibly can.

Though it is difficult, both physically and mentally…We do what we do for the happy miracles we are so lucky to be a part of.

If you want to help, the best thing you can do is to start at home. Spay/Neuter, Vaccinate, and Microchip your pets. If you feed a colony of ferals, find a local rescue that can help you with TNVR.

The bottom line is to “Be the change you wish to see.”

Be a part of the solution. Volunteer, Foster, and if you’re able.. Donate. Your support goes so much further than you could ever imagine.

If you would like to donate to our cause you can find your favorite place to donate on our website:

https://smittenkittenrescuecorporation.org/

Whether it be our Amazon Wish List, Venmo, or Chewy Gives Back…we have many different donation accounts to choose from! 😃 It just comes down to whomever it is you’re most comfortable with.

The way Baby Isabella looks at me 🥹 I just can’t…

I understand that people aren’t going to like all types of animals for one reason or another…but I will never understand how some people can be so cruel 🥺

📣 Update on Baby Isabella!

Though this girl is far from out of the woods, she’s definitely making progress!

She has finally gotten a bit of an appetite. This is HUGE because her gums are still not quite the shade of pink that I would like.

That being said, I can only get her to drink water if I give her little bits at a time with an oral syringe. Dehydration is still an issue, so we continue to supplement with subq fluids.

The biggest issue as of today is her body temp. She really struggles to keep her heat, so she’s been off and on with a warming disc. This allows her little body to use its energy to heal, instead of using it all trying to stay warm.

All in all, she has had the energy to walk short distances, play a bit with the puppy, and purr like crazy when being cuddled.

I call it a win 🙂 As long as her tiny body keeps fighting, she’ll get through this!

Baby Isabella couldn’t be more than 6 weeks old. When she was brought to us today, her body temperature was critically low, she was non-responsive, barely breathing, and she lost control of her bowels when I picked her up 🥺 I thought for sure she would be gone in less than an hour.

To my surprise, after a long warm bath, a bit of electrolyte water, and Karo Syrup to her gums…she started perking up. Everything was very touch and go for a while, as she would meow and try to move, then slip right back out of consciousness again.

We have kept her warm, given her a B12 injection, a bit of Ready Cal, and subq fluids.

Though she’s responding, her body temp is still all over the place, and she doesn’t have an appetite.

Please keep little Isabella in your prayers. We are doing everything possible to keep her little body going…but sometimes divine miracles are in order.

She didn’t ask for this 💔
