Prismatic Reptiles

Prismatic Reptiles Find top quality, great customer service and worldwide shipping. I am a hobby breeder driven completely by my passion for keeping only the animals I love most.

I founded Prismatic Reptiles in 2013, and I breed and sell our favorite reptile species including Mexicana and Montane kingsnakes, corn snakes, rat snakes, and ball pythons. My full-blown obsession has taken me to the point that I have one of the largest colubrid collections in the country. I only work with animals that interest me and make me say, "I couldn't live without that!". I have been fasc

inated with reptiles since I was a kid and I fearlessly caught reptiles throughout my childhood. When I got a little older I lost sight of that interest for a while, but in 2012 I took a trip to Las Vegas and did some herping on the way there. I spent two hours chasing a leopard lizard that I never ended up catching and I was hooked from there. As soon as I got home I looked on kingsnake.com classifieds and bought my first pair of collared lizards. At my first reptile show in early 2013 I bought some poison dart frogs and the "one snake I would ever own", which was an apricot pueblan milk snake. By the end of the year I was keeping corn snakes, cal kings, carpet pythons, ball pythons, gray banded kingsnakes, Arizona mountain kingsnakes, Nuevo Leon kingsnakes, Mex Mex kingsnakes, Durango mountain kingsnakes, hognose snakes, collared lizards, desert horned lizards, Mexican giant horned lizards, panther chameleons and I was breeding my own rodents and insects in preparation for my first breeding season in the spring of 2014. I produced a handful of desert horned lizards, collared lizards, cal kings, corn snakes and a lone Arizona mountain kingsnake. From that first reptile I ever bred and successfully hatched, I was all in. Fast forward to today, and now breeding reptiles is my full-time job! I'm always working on acquiring everything I've dreamed of working with, and I'm absolutely in love with reptiles more than ever. From learning about natural history, husbandry techniques, and trying to do things that no one else has done, becoming a bona fide herper has been one of the best things to ever happen to me. I have been doing educational shows at schools since the beginning, and I absolutely love field herping for all reptiles, from the most common, to the incredibly rare. I specialize in Mexicana and montane kingsnakes, old world ratsnakes, corn snakes, tricolor and Western hognose snakes, collared lizards, horned lizards, and ball pythons. I enjoy keeping, breeding, observing and interacting with reptiles and amphibians so much that I have decided to produce and provide animals for the enjoyment of others. I focus on the rarer and more aesthetically beautiful animals giving us the motto of "colorful captive-bred creations". My hope is that animals from out breeding stock can be used in personal collections, schools, and zoos for education and good, old-fashioned viewing pleasure. Rarely do people from Southeastern Idaho get access to such unique and high quality animals. I also strive to provide the absolute lowest local prices for feeder rodents. A primary mission beyond selling reptiles and providing expert advice and education pertaining to their care, is to offer local customers with feeders for their animals. I provide mice and rats of all sizes. If I have limited quantities on a particular item, I am happy to work with you and satisfy your needs. I prefer to provide rodents in only $25 minimum orders.

This guy is a real contender for the coolest Utah milk I’ve ever found. flipped some rocks with me on a Thursday afternoon as we started to figure out the mountain range. Friday morning I flipped my first ever pair of milks, and came showed up shortly after. We searched the Utah mountains for milks the entire rest of the day Friday, all day Saturday and it wasn’t until late Sunday morning we were finally rewarded with this absolutely stellar animal. They’re hard work, but they are absolutely one of the coolest lampropeltis in the Americas.

I have wanted to see this snake for easily 30 years. A willardi (Ridge-Nosed Rattlesnake) was the main target of this trip. I even said I wanted to see a baby one most of all, and I got that too! This is the Arizona state reptile, and in my opinion, the coolest rattlesnake on the planet! ✅. There are just no words to describe how cool this species is!

We just took a little trip to Southern Arizona and found some incredible animals! I feel like if you want me to post the pics you should go and check out the sale I’m running on MorphMarket. Almost everything on my store is 25% off, and I’m running 11 auctions that end on Sunday. I’m calling it my “milk madness” sale so I can fund some trips to find milk snakes this spring. I only kid; I will post the pics anyway, but it would be cool if you checked out the crazy deals I’m running anyway! My MorphMarket store is linked in my bio.

This is the double visual BHB Hypo Applegate, sibling to the triple visual BHB Hypo Applemel I posted the other day. Honestly, I have to say this is the more attractive combo in my eyes. The lavender coloration with the blue shining through on the head from the sapphire eyes is about as cool as anything I’ve seen. It reminds me of the aurora borealis; it’s exquisite. Believe it or not, this gorgeous girl is up for grabs on my MorphMarket right now so go and check her out! She’s an absolute powerhouse, plus she’s 66% Het for Amel.

The final photo shows the clutch all together. This girl is furthest left, the triple visual is just to her right, and the three to the furthest right are the ones lacking Hypo. I’ve heard some people say that you can’t see Hypo in certain combos, which may be true depending on the expression of Hypo (they can really vary), but in this clutch’s case it’s clear as day. Shoutout to Matthew Woodhall for laying the groundwork for this project!

In 2024 I produced the world’s first triple recessive Arizona Mountain Kingsnake - the BHB Hypo Applemel (BHB Hypo+Applegate+Amel). I waited to make it public until the snake to start feeding well. She eventually did, but could just never keep the weight on, so she passed away at about 15 months of age. I was pretty gutted about it, and that’s precisely the reason I didn’t publicly post about it prematurely. It’s much better to go through that kind of disappointment on your own, at least for me.

In 2025 my good buddy David Nickleberry hit an insane clutch from some pyros I sold him a few years back, and he made what I think is the triple recessive HypoE Applemel (Applegate+Amel+HypoE combo). Congrats to David on the animal he hit.

Last year I hit the BHB Hypo Applegate again, and this time she’s eating well so I feel comfortable posting her publicly!

I’m sure lots of you understand the mechanics behind making a snake with three visual recessive genes. For those two don’t, the odds of hitting a triple recessive baby by breeding a triple het parent to a triple het parent (meaning each parent has one copy of all 3 genes, but don’t visually express them) is 1 in 64. 1 egg out of every 64 from doing that pairing has the probability of being the animal you’re after! That’s a 1.5% chance. That could take a VERY long time when dealing with a species like pyros which commonly lay an average of 3 to 5 eggs per year. It’s been cool to watch the progression from the first Hybinos, to the Applemels and HypoE Apples, to the Sentz Ghost, Snows, and the BHB Hypo Applegates. Now that we’ve got all these double recessives, and NOW TRIPLES, the Arizona Mountain Kingsnake morph combination game is on the precipice of absolute greatness.

I consider myself fortunate to have been able to watch these milestones being made and to be able to be here to see the next ones come to fruition! Shout to Jeff Teel, Matt Woodhall, Terry Dunham, Rod McLeod, Neil Richards, Kyle Greenhalgh and others who have worked tirelessly on pyro combos!

I just posted some David Blody line hypo red milks to my MorphMarket. From what I could see, these are the first visual hypo reds to be posted to MM. It’s been a rewarding project after making my own hets, raising them up and eventually producing these stunning hypos. They’ve got to be one of the most attractive colubrids out there.

I always say that it’s a good day when you can get out and catch a fish and a snake in the same day. It’s not too often you get to do it in the same 30 seconds, though!
