While checking in on newly adopted Eclipse this week, we visited our old friend Cody, who is now called Suede. Suede was adopted many years ago, prior to our implementation of electronic identification. We took the opportunity to have Knoellwood Equine microchip him to help ensure his long term safety.

Trunk or treat, free pizza and chips for kids, pick out and take home a pumpkin! The barn will be open to see all the props with the lights on to show the littles it’s not so scary after all!
Regular haunt to follow 6:30-10pm

We were recently alerted of a horrific situation involving up to 50 horses in KY. By chance, a friend and volunteer was visiting the area and reached out to us for guidance. Collectively, we alerted several individuals, agencies and organizations which led to a report being filed through the sheriff's office. At this time, there is an active investigation. It is our understanding this has been ongoing, and we urge you all, if you see something, please say something. Don't know who to call? Document location, landmarks and conditions and then call 911, and they will dispatch the appropriate agency, or give you guidance on what steps to take. 🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Local Authorities Investigating Allegations of Animal Neglect at Ohana Run Horse Stables

ASHLAND, Ky. — Deputies with the Boyd county sheriffs office as well as county animal control are reportedly on scene investigating allegations of animal neglect at Ohana Run Horse Stables.

Details surrounding the investigation remain limited at this time. Officials have not yet publicly confirmed the full nature of the allegations or whether any enforcement action has been taken.

Appalachia Today is working to gather additional information regarding the investigation and the condition of the animals involved.

As this remains an ongoing and developing situation, the allegations have not been independently verified. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
