🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED — LET’S SAVE HOT POCKET! 🚨

Okay… first of all, her name is HOT POCKET. 🥹😂 How can we possibly leave a girl named Hot Pocket behind?!

This sweet little lady is currently sitting in a shelter where she is at risk of euthanasia for space. 💔 TRU would LOVE to give her the freedom ride she deserves, but we need a foster or foster-to-adopt home to make that happen!

🐾 Meet Chuck — Talk About a Glow-Up! ✂️✨

Is this even the same dog?! 😂 Chuck came to us rocking the “I’ve been through some things” look… and after a much-needed spa day, he emerged as one seriously adorable little gentleman. Those eyes! Those ears! That curly little tail! 😍

Chuck is 3 years old, 15 lbs., and neutered. He’s a friendly little guy who walks nicely on a leash, is doing well around kids, and so far doesn’t seem bothered by cats or even chickens. 🐱🐔

As for his breed? Your guess is as good as ours! 😂 We’re calling him 100% certified cutie with a mystery mix on the side.

Chuck got his fresh start, his fresh haircut… and now all he needs is his forever home. ❤️🐾

See these faces? Every single one of these dogs is currently sitting in one of our shelter partner facilities waiting for someone to give them a chance.

Our shelter partners are overflowing with dogs, and many rural shelters are facing the heartbreaking reality of euthanasia simply because they are running out of space. 💔

TRU Rescue wants to help. We want to say YES to as many of these deserving dogs as possible.

But there’s one thing standing between them and rescue…

We are incredibly grateful for every foster family already part of our TRU family. You are quite literally the reason we can continue saving lives. But right now, we need more of you.

🐾 Meet Timmy — Tippy Taps, Good Manners & a Whole Lotta Love! ❤️

Timmy is truly the sweetest boy with so much love to give! After starting life as a stray, he’s learned to appreciate the finer things in life—especially FOOD. 😂 Mealtime excitement usually comes with his signature tippy taps, and honestly, they’re pretty adorable.

Timmy enjoys the company of other dogs, but people are where his heart really is. If there’s an available lap and a hand willing to give pets, you can bet Timmy will be there! 🥰

He has a little case of FOMO when crated (because clearly the party cannot continue without Timmy!), but he settles easily with a reminder. He also walks nicely on leash, although every once in a while his nose says, “WAIT… what’s that smell?!” 👃🐕 A quick redirect and he’s right back on track.

But here’s what makes Timmy extra special: he has spent the past several months living and working with some wonderful trainers. He has learned SO much, developed great manners, and has worked hard to become the good boy he is today. His trainers are also ready to help his future adopter with his transition into his new home and provide support should anything come up along the way. ❤️

Timmy has done the work. He’s learned the manners. He’s perfected the tippy taps. Now there’s just one thing left to find… his forever family. 🏡🐾

🐾 HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY FROM TRU RESCUE! 🐾

Today is all about celebrating the four-legged creatures who somehow manage to steal our hearts, our beds, our blankets… and usually the best spot on the couch. 😂❤️

At TRU Rescue, every day is Dog Day—but today we’re giving an extra shoutout to ALL the amazing pups who have come through our doors. 🐶

🐾 Meet Brutus — 60 lbs of love with absolutely ZERO respect for personal space. 😂❤️

Brutus is convinced he’s a lap dog, and honestly, we don’t have the heart to tell him otherwise. He’s a professional cuddler, belly-rub enthusiast, expert hugger, and all-around good boy.

He’s house & crate trained, walks nicely on leash, knows several commands, rarely barks, and does well with other dogs and kids 5+. He’s low-to-medium energy and perfectly happy lounging with his people.

Brutus is VERY food motivated—which makes training easy, but also means unattended snacks may become Brutus snacks. 😂 Cats may be possible with slow introductions and continued training.

He’s completed his heartworm treatment, is doing great, and is awaiting his final bloodwork. ❤️

One final warning: Brutus can be trusted home alone… unless you leave out a cardboard box. 📦 Apparently those must be destroyed immediately. 😂

🐾 MEET BELLA — PROFESSIONAL SNUGGLER, CERTIFIED GOOD GIRL 🐾

Looking for a little less chaos and a lot more sweet, easygoing companionship? Bella may be your girl. 🖤

Bella is a 4-year-old, 35-pound laid-back lady with a silky-smooth, super-soft coat and a personality to match. She’s great with other dogs, loves people, and is perfectly happy just hanging out and enjoying life with her humans.

This sweet girl was once an emotional support dog, so being a loving companion is basically on her résumé. ❤️ Unfortunately, when her owner could no longer care for her, Bella lost the home she knew and eventually found herself in a shelter.

Now she’s ready for her next—and hopefully forever—chapter. 🏡

Bella isn’t asking for much: a comfy place to land, people to love, maybe a cozy couch to claim…and the promise that this time, she gets to stay. 🥹

❤️ A Little Raw Truth From TRU Rescue ❤️

Adoptions are down. Foster homes are at an all-time low. Shelters are overcrowded, and dogs are facing euthanasia for space at an alarming rate.

The heartbreaking reality is that when dogs aren’t moving from rescue into adoptive homes, foster homes stay full. And when we don’t have open foster homes, we simply cannot say YES to the shelter dogs who desperately need somewhere safe to go.

This isn’t just a TRU Rescue problem. Rescues and shelters everywhere are struggling right now.

Before anything else, we want to say how incredibly grateful we are for our foster families—especially those who have opened their homes to dogs for weeks or even months while they wait for their forever families. ❤️ We are equally grateful for our amazing volunteers who continue to give their time, energy, and hearts to keep TRU going. We could not do this without you.

But right now, TRU Rescue desperately needs foster homes.

We have puppies who need new foster placements. We have dogs who have been in the same foster homes for a long time and would benefit from a change of environment. We have dogs who have completed training and are ready to transition into foster or adoptive homes. And we have shelter partners reaching out, begging us to help dogs who are running out of time.

Sometimes saving just one dog may not feel like enough—but to that one dog, it means everything. 🐾

If you’ve ever thought about fostering—even if you’re not sure whether it’s right for you—please consider submitting an application and talking with us. Applying doesn’t mean you’re committing to a dog. It gives us the opportunity to talk with you, answer your questions, and help determine what type of foster situation might work for your home.

TRU will be there to support you. We can provide the supplies you need, guidance and advice, training support, and veterinary coverage. You won’t be doing this alone.

The truth is, our rescue cannot continue saving lives without foster homes.

🐾‼️SAM & BO are looking for a new foster home! ‼️🐾

Their current foster will be going out of town for two weeks so these boys are looking for a new foster home starting 8/29. They can go separately or together. If you’re interested in a puppy, but aren’t sure if it’s going to be a good fit, you can also foster to adopt one of these cuties!

They are doing great with house training, they are calm & well behaved, and sleeping overnight. The Foster said they are just the best puppies!
