As promised! Here are last years financials. As you can see we got some grant money but the bulk of our income was from your generosity and kindness!! We cannot do this without you!!

We hired an accounting firm in St Petersburg to look over everything and to do our taxes and our 990
has now been filed. The firm charges us very little to do this.

We continue to try an reduce our expenses. This year, we will focus on reducing food expenses, the website/marketing fees, bank fees, and sofware fees. Hopefully that will show on our next years financials.

Thank you to all who donated and supported us, we receive NO government funding!! We do not take salaries, this is all volunteer.

Meet gorgeous Dash. She is probably about 5 years old. She eluded us for a while, thus the name, and lived in the parking lot at the Ellenton mall. Since she was feeder friendly and the colony caregiver thought she was in harms way, we took her in about 6 months ago. Since then, her injuries have cleared up and she has turned into a lap cat. She is ready for adoption. A quiet indoor home would be perfect for her.

Gizmo update!! Gizmo, the 13 year old unspayed female we rescued from a hoarding situation is doing well. Her skin has healed from all the flea allergies and her fur is soft and fluffier. Even the hair on her tail that was broken in several places during her lifetime, is growing back! She is scheduled for her surgery on June 19th!! Then she really needs a home alone somewhere with an understanding person. She does use the litter box now too!! Good girl!!

Help!! Jake came from a person who had to go to a memory care facility. We were told he was about 8 years old but he is more North of 12 years old. He was losing weight but all his bloodwork came back good. Then last week a nasty tooth abscess appeared. We treated it and it went away, he gained a half a pound, but... the day before yesterday it came back with a vengeance. So we took him to the vet today and we hope to get him into surgery tomorrow. The low estimate is about $1,000. We need help!!

Finally some news coverage on the crisis we face

More than six million pets were abandoned by their owners last year and many of them didn't survive. Tens of thousands of those were in L.A. alone. We talked to Nina Jackel, founder of 'Lady Freethinker', about this crisis and the importance of making everyone aware of it.

Here is a Peggy and Jimmy update!!

We have some awesome followers and supporters!! Thank you Jessica and Kathy for stepping up!! We met at the location and scoped out the place. Jessica and Kathy stayed so I coukd return to my sanctuary duties and they spotted both cats. The owner of the property and the neighbors are all animal people thank goodness and letting us have all the access we need to feed and trap. In addition, we have an adopter lined up in Venice ready to take both !! Yay, thank you Kathy in Venice!! So we will tag team in the morning and at night and try trapping these lovely senior cats that lost these owners so far and we hope they will now go to their forever home!! Please keep these cats in your prayers!!

Update. A friend of the sanctuary is heading there now. She is a lot closer and found some activity there so hopefully we will know more soon.

I am so sad, I got up at 6 AM to be ready to go get Jimmy and Peggy from the man that is getting evicted at 9 AM today. First, he told me he had Peggy but Jimmy escaped outside. Then he said he had them both secured in the pool area but when I got there, there was no Peggy. Jimmy was banging his head against the screens terrified and ultimately escaped through the screen door that was ajar and could not be r. After that, the cats were nowhere to be seen. He left and not returning, I have a call in to the landlord but no answer yet. Jimmy looked skinny and then I was told the sister was attached and killed some time ago probably a coyote. They were microchipped per our instructions but now the microchip company wants $40 each to get them on the map. This is heartbreaking. Those cats just lost everything and I am scared when they work on this house one of them will get accidentally locked in the house with no food or water plus now they dont get fed either...grrrr... he had many weeks to secure them
, he even took them to the vet!! I don't understand people...please pray that the landlord gives me access to the property and that I can trap them. This is horrible!!
