This week, one adoption can save two lives.

Thanks to the family of Wilbur and Lily and an anonymous animal-loving donor, adoption fees for all dogs 5 months and older are waived through June 5.

This Friday, our team heads to Southern California to bring back animals from Riverside County shelters impacted by the Bain Fire. Before we go, we’re hoping to find homes for as many dogs as possible. Every adoption creates space for another animal in need, allowing us to say “yes” to more lives waiting for help.

Right now, dogs like Collette, Franklin, Maybelle, Copper, Gabe, Raya, and Jammies are ready to begin their next chapter. They’re ready for cozy beds, daily walks, and families to call their own.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, there’s never been a better time. Your decision could change the life of a dog in our shelter today while opening the door for another animal to receive the care and safety they deserve tomorrow.

Meet Canela! 🤍

At 9 years young and just 15 pounds, Canela may be small, but she's big on personality. This sweet girl is a professional lap snuggler, a champion of puzzle feeders, and an absolute pushover for a bite of cheese. She's even picking up cues like "sit," "down," and "touch."

Thanks to the family of Wilbur and Lily and an Anonymous Animal-Loving Donor, adoption fees for all dogs 5 months and older are completely waived through June 5th. That means Canela is ready to head home today. 🐾

She's looking for a calm spot where she can enjoy cozy naps, short strolls, and plenty of affection. If you've been waiting for a companion who's equal parts cuddly and clever, come say hello.

We're grateful to share that Jane Hennessy and Chuck Adams have pledged a $7,000 matching gift for our 4th Annual Pet Care Assistance Day on Saturday, June 13.

Every donation made through June 11 will be matched dollar for dollar, helping us provide free microchips, vaccines, deworming, and flea prevention to families in our community who need support keeping their pets healthy.

Thanks to the family of Wilbur and Lily, and to an Anonymous Animal-Loving Donor, adoption fees for all dogs 5 months and older are waived till June 5th!

Our Palo Alto and Redwood City shelters are nearly full, and next weekend we’re bringing in animals from overwhelmed Southern California shelters that urgently need help. Every adoption between now and then opens up the space we need to welcome them in.

This could be the week your next best friend finally goes home.

Clover has settled well into her new home and is making the most of every adventure that comes her way. Her adopter, Martina, shared:

“Clover is doing very well and is a total love bug. She loves hiking, play dates with dog friends, and exploring new places. She's even learning to be a ‘water dog’ and recently started joining us on standup paddleboard outings. The rest of the time, she's looking for cuddles on the couch or perched on the stairs observing the world outside. She's extremely intelligent, very athletic, and has a curious nose, so some kind of dog sport may well be in her future.” 💛

Big news: thanks to the family of Wilbur and Lily, adoption fees for select animals are WAIVED through June 5th.

Our shelters in Palo Alto and Redwood City are nearly at capacity, and next weekend our team is heading down to Southern California to support shelter partners who are stretched beyond their limits and in urgent need of relief. Their animals deserve safety, care, and a family of their own, and we're determined to bring as many home with us as we can. Every adoption between now and then opens up the space we need to welcome them in.

This could be the weekend Collette, Brody, Fiji, Chato, Cherry, Cheese, Copper, and so many more finally find their way home.
