Freedom Ride, Inc

Freedom Ride, Inc Freedom Ride. . .Horsepower for the Spirit! The movement of a horse is a rhythmic side-to-side, forward and backward action that is similar to a human walking.

As participants sit atop a horse, their pelvic area, trunk and upper body move in motion to the horse. This stimulation gently relaxes taut muscles and thereby increases range of motion for the rider. The movement of the trunk encourages riders to work harder to balance their upper bodies, and routine activities develop hand-eye coordination. Learning new routines, sequencing and accessing short-t

erm memory skills assist individuals who otherwise may experience difficulty with these tasks. Just as important, being able to participate in an activity like their siblings and able-bodied friends increases self-esteem and confidence. With a team of loyal horses, PATH Certified Instructors, and Trained Volunteers, Freedom Ride provides therapeutic horseback riding to children and adults with many types of disabilities....cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, autism, developmental delay, attention deficit disorder, deafness, blindness and many emotional and learning disabilities.

Community Support in Action: Scholarships Filled, Lives Changed

This week, thanks to the incredible generosity of our community partners, we were able to inform many participant families that their fall sessions at Freedom Ride will be at no or reduced cost. Through grants, sponsorships, and individual donations, financial barriers were removed so that children and adults could access the life-changing benefits of our programs.

We're also excited to share that our Fall Semester is full! Over the next four months, we will serve nearly 400 participants, six days a week, through a variety of programs, including:
🐴 Therapeutic Horseback Riding and Equine-Facilitated Learning for children and adults with disabilities
🐴 Ground-Based Wellness programs for groups from the VA and a local behavioral health hospital
🐴 Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy for individuals facing mental health and behavioral challenges

In addition, all available scholarship funds have been committed, ensuring that many participants who otherwise could not afford services will have the opportunity to benefit from our programs.

As we look ahead to our winter semester (beginning in January), we invite you to help us continue making these opportunities possible. Every gift helps provide access to healing, growth, connection, and independence.

Thank you for helping us ensure that finances are never a barrier to hope, healing, and opportunity. Together, we're changing lives every day.
