COURTESY POST

"Looking to rehome a 4 year old lab mix. This is not due to aggression or behavioral issues. After welcoming a newborn and already raising two young girls, Luna deserves a home with more exercise and attention than can realistically be given right now.

Luna is sweet, a good listener, loyal, and great with kids and other dogs. She enjoys tug-of-war and chewing on durable bones like deer antlers. She does great in the backyard and does not dig or try to escape. She has never growled, snapped, or shown aggression.

When adopted from animal services, Luna had come from severe neglect. She was emaciated and heartworm positive, but was fully treated and brought back to good health. She’s now a much happier dog.

She knows basic commands like sit, stay, come, and shake. She previously struggled with some separation anxiety from her past neglect, but has improved significantly. A crate has not been needed in quite some time, though she likely would not enjoy being crated regularly.

The goal is truly to find the best long term fit for her. Ideally, Luna would thrive in a home where she can get plenty of exercise, playtime, and companionship."

More info from someone who knows the dog:
"I’ve babysat her a couple times and she is a sweetheart! Does really well with other dogs....Just trying to avoid her ending up back in the shelter and they want to find her a great home!"

One of our Chi pups came in yesterday suspected of possibly having ma*****na exposure. This little pup was OUT. When handed over, we were told that before leaving home, they let the pups out to play but that the neighbors smoke w**d. We were told that the pup was fine in the car but sometime along the way, he became very drowsy and hardly responsive. We can't confirm anything. Not sure if the hot weather played a roll with them being let out to play, but there were a lot of things in their car as well as a couple of young kids. We were told that the pup was given almond milk, also. We don't know what to think....We don't know if the pup got into something in their yard or in their vehicle but this little pup was laying there and wouldn't wake up. The person said it wasn't her car that she was driving so who knows, but she only mentioned the neighbors and their smoking, but seeing the pup, it could be very likely the case. His breathing was fine and he didn't look in distress, but something definitely happened. The person offered to take the puppy back and get it checked out, but we felt it best to take the pup under our care. Plus if we absolutely felt we needed to take him to the vet, ours is 24/7. His siblings were just fine so whatever happened, only happened to this 1 pup. He took water ok (eyes completely closed and still laying down). He was not moving at all (aside from drinking half asleep). As he was being driven to his destination, he just laid there while his other siblings moved about. Once arrived, he was taken to an area of his own where he could be watched. He was periodically given more water and also nutrical. Hours later after being handed off to us, he finally opened his sleepy eyes and lifted his wobbly head for a short time. Then it was back off to sleep. He slept maybe another hour. 6 hours later after taking him in, this pup was now up and ready to play, eat and get cuddles. It was a new situation for us, but so glad that he is completely back to himself! We may never know what happened to this pup but we are glad that he is safe! At 7 weeks old, this could have been worse for this little guy! I'm glad we could help. They were in good shape aside from this and a few fleas here and there.

But wondering, has anyone experienced this before with a pup?

Glad to say the Carlo is ok. He was completely himself by the end of the night!
