HPAN Board of Directors

See our success stories at http://helpingpaws37830.wordpress.com. Helping Paws Animal Network (HPAN) is a non-profit organization under IRS Section 501(c)(3). We have "Gold Transparency" status on GuideStar: https://www.guidestar.org/profile/46-0702089. HPAN strives to assist local animals (in Anderson and surrounding counties in TN) in dire situations who are hungry, hurting or homeless. We raise funds to assist state-registered nonprofit rescue groups when funding is needed for food, shelter, vet services, boarding, etc. We prioritize verified cases based on available funds at the time of the request. We pay the veterinarian, the kennel or appropriate vendor, and/or purchase the required needs, such as food, supplies, or medicine. Please join our fundraising group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/792944066019243. Our network is made up of anyone in the general public who loves animals as much as we do. We have seven members on our Board, and all of us are volunteers who share a love for animals. Anyone, whether you know us or not, who would like to contact a team member with a comment or question may send a personal message via Facebook or send separate mail to [email protected]. We are so grateful for all our friends and supporters; you assist us in helping those that cannot help themselves. Note: Any views expressed by individual board members or supporters on this or any other social media site do not necessarily reflect the viewpoint of HPAN.

💥We have some new faces at the shelter this weekend! 📸
Here are some bios to help you find your new best friend!

💛Shelby is an older lady who is looking for a calm home to retire in! She does great with other dogs and doesn’t bother cats. She doesn’t respect small children very much, so older kids are recommended.
Shelby is a smaller dog (around 25 lbs) who is quiet, calm, and would be well-suited to apartment living or adopters who don’t want a ton of puppy energy.

🐼Panda is currently completing his stray hold, but you can still meet him and his sis Bluey in the meantime! He is still a bit shy, but you can tell he’s just waiting to unleash his heeler energy (mostly by hunting down treats, no matter how far out of reach you think you’ve put them). Panda is 45 lb and is around 1-2 years old. He does well with dogs and cats, and we think he would fit well into almost any family.

🐘Ellie (F, 45lb) is an angel of a dog who has been through too much in her life. At one time, she was clearly a beautiful retriever-like mix, but this appears to have caused her to be used for puppies over and over. Now her front teeth are worn down from chewing on kennel doors, her paw pads are thickened from long periods of inactivity, and most of the hair on her back has fallen out. But Ellie isn’t letting ANY of this stop her! She loves to meet people, and the smallest kindness has her following people around like a lost duckling. We haven’t had her long enough to know too much about her true personality, but from what we have seen, Ellie is a sweet soul who just needs someone to be there for her.

🎨Artie is STILL waiting on his forever home! He has done great at events recently, and has bravely encountered everything from loud traffic to crowds. His one sticking point is kids, specifically the loud screaming ones.(We can’t say we blame him for being scared of those.) We are recommending no kids in his new family, but with proper introductions he will do well with other dogs and seems to tolerate cats as well (even though those are a bit scary too). Once he’s comfortble, Artie is a happy-go-lucky guy who just wants to see everything he’s missed out on being on a chain!

☔️Rain has a name that doesn’t really fit him - this little guy is a bundle of sunshine! He is around a year old, around 30 lbs, and LOVES to play! He loves other dogs, new people, playing fetch, and zoooooming around. He would do great with a fenced yard, or a family that is VERY dedicated to going on walks (or runs).

🌨️Snow AND Cloud are two young dogs looking for a home together. They have perfected their synchronization routines, and as a result they are the most photogenic dogs at the shelter. These guys are shy, sweet, and curious about everything. They would do great in a quiet home with an outdoor space for them to frolic together (also perfectly in sync). These guys are around a year old and 35 lbs, and would do great in just about any family that is reasonably low-stress.

🦋Bluey (F, 35 lb) is still on stray hold, but is available to meet potential adopters! This little lady will follow you around everywhere and loves to know what you’re up to. She is not super high-energy and would probably do just fine in an apartment. We would definitely recommend some crate training though, since she is a very intelligent and curious dog who is always finding something new to investigate (or steal).

🇺🇸Liberty (M, 42 lb) is our newest dog, so we are still learning his personality. He is very nervous at the shelter, but whenever he is stressed he comes to his favorite people for comfort. If you are looking for a social, cuddly dog, Liberty may be your new bestie!

🍦McFlurry (F, 55lb) is a staff favorite! She is a huge cuddlebug who just wants to be near people. She does not do well when she is feeling ignored, which has caused her a lot of anxiety in the kennels, and led to some unwanted wandering in her former home where she was an outdoor dog. McFlurry loves meeting new people, and she spends a lot of her time at the shelter hanging out with the staff in the office, where she is an extremely polite greeter. She gets along with male dogs and with most female dogs, and doesn’t bother cats. She is extremely gentle, and would do great in any family that can give her the attention she deserves!
