Good day from "Roo". We've recently added pigs back to the farm. She's a sweetheart. We wanted to make this post because we've noticed quite a few people posting about found pets. Seems a lot of people in the Newton/Conover/Hickory area are finding dogs and cats running loose with no people to claim them. Sometimes, they do escape their house or yard, but we are seeing too many posts every week to be just an accidental stray. We've also been keeping up with county shelter, and they are at absolute capacity. It's absolutely heartbreaking, and makes us wonder: how many of these stray animals are actually dumped out? We want to remind everyone that although we are NOT a rescue,as we do not have proper means and set up to do so,we understand things are tough right now for many. One way we can try to help is to provide up to 1 week worth of food for your pet. That's actually up,as we used to only provide a few days. We have people that have very generously donated to us,and we are so very grateful. Our goal is to PREVENT people from feeling like they have to surrender their pet due to not being able to feed them. (Or worse, abandon) We provide an age appropriate food for your pet, adult or puppy/kitten. Brands will vary,as we not only rely heavily on donations, but what we have in stock at that time. However, the food you receive is in date and always unopened for your pets saftey. We sometimes have supplies like bowls, leashes,ECT,but always check first. Right now,we do not have vouchers to help with vet bills,as we are only slowly expanding. We hope to continue growing. As more people know about us,we hope to extend our services, even adding volunteers to help distribute items to people that can't drive. As of right now, however,if you need assistance with pet food, please don't surrender your pet without checking with us first. We want to help you keep your pet!
