German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County

German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County We are located in Southern California. GSROC is a 501c(3) non-profit organization. We only have the resources to adopt dogs to families in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.
(3220)

Through a careful screening process, we place loving dogs into forever homes with compassionate individuals and families. We begin with an Application, which tells us more about an individual’s experience level, lifestyle, other pets, preferences, etc. so we can recommend dogs that best fit the home. Prospective adopters are encouraged to meet various dogs and to bring all family members and exist

ing pets to meet the dogs they are interested in. Once “the” dog has been selected, we perform a routine Home Visit to ensure the dog will be safe from any hazards, poisons, or dangerous situations. At this time, we advise the adopter if there are any repairs or corrections that need to be made prior to the dog coming home. Adopters pledge to love and care for the adopted dog throughout its entire lifetime. In the event an adopter is no longer able to care for a dog, we insist it come back into our rescue safety net for re-homing. Due to financial and logistical limitations, we do not place dogs outside of the Southern California area. Effective July 1, 2021, our minimum Adoption Donation is $370 plus $25.00 for microchip for dogs over 1 year, and $470 plus $25.00 for microchip for dogs one year old and younger. This donation (tax deductible as allowed by law) helps to offset the costs we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccinations and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion. We also ask our adopters to help us spread the word about the important work that we do.

L-O-L-A, Lola, Lo Lo Lo Lo Lola!

This precious, shy, beautiful blonde is Lola, found as a stray by a good samaritan. Lola is timid at first meeting, but as she learns that you mean her no harm, she warms up. Something in her past did a number on her confidence, so our team members are working to help her know how incredible she is. Lola needs a quiet, adult-only home with a stable routine. She runs from loud noises and commotion, so a home without a lot of comings and goings is ideal.

Lola enjoys playing and running with other friendly dogs. She would love to have a confident dog role model to take cues from. If you have had experience with shy dogs, please consider opening your heart to Lola. She is desperate to feel safe and loved.

Available in SoCAL. She is 18 months young. Visit gsroc.org to see more photos and will you please share?

Snickers was recently rescued from a park where she had been abandoned shortly after giving birth. Rescuers looked everywhere but couldn't find her puppies. She came to GSROC terrified, in distress and starving. Thanks to our incredible supporters and team members, this is Snickers today. She is still decompressing, but she has come long, long way! This is how your donations help us to help dogs!

Yogi is a big, solid bear of a dog, probably GSD with some Rott or Great Dane mixed in for good measure. He has a very intimidating presence, but to know him is to know that he is a big teddy bear underneath that bold exterior. Yogi wants nothing more than love, a dependable routine, good grub, and someone to share secrets with. He is desperate to find his human match so that he can finally relax and feel valued.

Yogi was rescued from a high-kill shelter when his time ran out. We couldn't bear for this magnificent beast to lose his life simply due to space constraints. If you are looking for a size XL boy who will be your constant shadow, and you want only one MALE dog in your family, take another look at Yogi. He's ready to give you his whole heart.

Available in Southern CA through German Shepherd Rescue of OC. Please, will you share Yogi's story widely?

Diesel, age 5, is a spectacular sable shepherd, possibly with a little Malamute mixed in for extra fluffy factor. He is big and gentle and easy-going, enjoying the company of most large dogs. Diesel loves to go on pack walks wiith the other dogs and his floofy tail is always wagging. This guy is positively perfect for anyone who appreciates that beauty and nobility of this breed.

See more photos at gsroc.org and apply to adopt Diesel. Will you please share his story widely? Available in Southern CA through German Shepherd Rescue of OC.
