Did you know that cats are not truly nocturnal? Cats are crepuscular, which means they are most active at dawn and dusk. You will notice large bursts of energy during these times, and they will take naps throughout the rest of the day. This mimics the hunting patterns of their wild ancestors.

💉Rabies Clinic is back for 2026!!

Our department, along with the Orange County Department of Health and the Town of Newburgh Clerk's Office, will be hosting another free rabies clinic on Saturday, October 10th, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Town of Newburgh Highway Department! Pre-registration must be done through the clerk's office, which can be reached at (845) 564-4554. The clinic is open to ORANGE COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY. If there are any questions about the clinic, please contact the Town of Newburgh Clerk's Office. We will be accepting donations at the clinic for our shelter, and acceptable items can be found through our Biggest Needs Amazon Wishlist, linked below through our Linktree🌳.
