📣DONATE TO BENJI'S MEDICAL CARE!
Funds needed now 💔🙏

Today is International Charity Day - can you make a contribution so Benji can get the life-saving treatments he needs?

Sadly, Benji is now going on several weeks of vomiting with little to no appetite, with first lines of treatment protocols yielding little to no results. Benji went to the first vet for an exam, bloodwork, antibiotics, xrays, and an ultrasound - no obstructions were found, but the vets saw lesions and thickening of his stomach/intestine walls and... also a possible tumor.😞 After a week of strong antibiotics there was a little improvement at first, but then he became worse again 💔

With the vet bills already adding up, Benji now needs hospitalization and specialist veterinary care at Guardian Veterinary Specialists in Brewster, NY. 👉👉The estimate is $3,149.90 - $3,910.29

At only 3 years old, Benji still has so much living to do! We rescued him from the euthanasia list in November 2024, but we can't save him now without your support.

Every $1 matters, every $1 counts and shows Benji that we are all still here, rooting for him, and not letting his second chance at life slip away from him!

🙏 DONATIONS NEEDED FOR BENJI
Help us rescue him again -
9/5 is International Charity Day!

Back in November 2024, Benji 209515 was at risk for euthanasia in the city shelter. Thanks to everyone rallying around this young boy, we were able to rescue him in time. And up until recently, this adorably toasted nugget was doing very well.

Sadly, Benji is now going on several weeks of vomiting with little to no appetite, with first lines of treatment protocols yielding little to no results. PLEASE DONATE TO BENJI'S MEDICAL CARE SO WE CAN RESCUE HIM AGAIN 🙏 Back when we pulled him, Benji was just 1 year old. Now at only 3 years old, Benji still has so much living to do! We rescued him once, but we can't do it again without your support.

NINO COMPLETED AN INTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM. NOW HE HAS NOWHERE TO GO 💔

Nino is only a year old, and he has already been through more instability than any young dog should experience.
His previous family surrendered him to the shelter in July 2026 citing their surrender reason as expecting a baby. Nino had lived in a home with children of all ages, but suddenly the home and family he knew were gone. He struggled with the overwhelming shelter environment and he found himself on the euthanasia list.

We pulled Nino to safety last month, and since his rescue, we have invested heavily in preparing him for the next chapter of his life. Nino has just completed a rigorous, intensive training program. Everyone says they want a trained dog well, here he is (check out his videos of him working hard in training)

He has spent this time working consistently with trainers, learning structure, strengthening his obedience, building confidence, and developing the skills he needs to succeed in a home. He has put in an enormous amount of work, and he is leaving his program with a strong training foundation that his future family can continue reinforcing.

And have you seen those gorgeous eyes? Nino is an incredibly handsome boy, but there is so much more to him than his looks. He is intelligent, young, trained, and ready for someone willing to provide the consistency he needs. His training program is complete, and Nino has nowhere to go.

There is no forever home waiting for him. No foster home waiting to take him in. After all the time, training, and work that has gone into getting this young dog ready for a home, we desperately need someone to step up for him.

Nino survived the euthanasia list. He completed an intensive training program. He has done everything we could possibly ask of him. Now we need a person willing to take everything Nino has learned and give him the opportunity to actually use it in a home.

Please help us find Nino a foster or adopter. He is located in CT📍Please apply at AmsterDog.org/application

UPDATE: Max just left for his new home!

WE ARE OUT OF WORDS. WE ARE OUT OF IDEAS. AND MAX MOJITO IS STILL COMPLETELY UNWANTED.

ABSOLUTELY NO ONE IS INTERESTED IN HIM. Not one application, not one meet and greet, not one person willing to give him a chance. We have posted him repeatedly. We have shared his story. We have shown everyone how intelligent and highly trained he is. We have begged people to meet him.

Nothing has worked. No one wants Max. Max was found wandering alone in Brooklyn and brought to the shelter as a stray by NYPD officers in February 2025. No one came looking for him. He eventually landed on the euthanasia list, where his life was going to end simply because he had nowhere to go.

AmsterDog Rescue pulled Max from the euthanasia list in May 2025 and saved his life. But what did we save him for if he is going to spend year after year waiting for a life that never comes?

It is now August 2026. More than a year has passed, and Max is still waiting for someone, anyone, to see value in him.

He survived the shelter. He survived the euthanasia list.
He completed a rigorous training program. He learned everything asked of him. He did everything right.

AND STILL, NO ONE HAS CHOSEN HIM. Max cannot make himself smaller, younger or into whatever kind of dog people find easier to love. He can only be Max, intelligent, treat motivated, eager to learn and desperately deserving of a real home.

How much more does this dog have to prove before someone believes he is worth meeting? We are terrified that another year of Max’s life will disappear while people continue scrolling past him. Dogs should not be rescued from euthanasia only to spend the best years of their lives trapped in an endless wait because nobody will even consider them.

AmsterDog is a foster-based rescue. We have no facility and nowhere permanent for Max to go. Every day he remains without a home, desperately needed resources stay tied up while other dogs sit on euthanasia lists waiting for us to save them. We beg for help with emergency placements all the time, that’s rescue unfortunately. We never close our intake, and we continue taking on more dogs, doing courtesy posts, and advocating for dogs without rescue backing. But we cannot keep helping new dogs if no one steps up for the dogs already depending on us.

We cannot keep doing this indefinitely. We cannot manufacture a home for him. We cannot force someone to care. All we can do is keep begging, and we are begging now harder than ever.

Please, someone help us. Please be the person who finally asks to meet Max. Please be the person who tells him that his life did not end at the shelter only so he could spend the rest of it being unwanted.

Max doesn’t need more pity, heart reactions or promises to share later. He needs a foster or adopter. HE NEEDS SOMEONE TO ACT. All he has had is endless waiting, zero interest, no home, no one coming for him.

We are pleading with you, do not scroll past Max Mojito. Everyone has assumed someone else would save him, and for more than a year, no one has.

Apply now at AmsterDog.org/application. Max is located in CT.

If you truly cannot foster or adopt, share this post everywhere. Tag anyone who may be able to help. We do not know what else to do, and Max cannot keep living his life waiting for someone who never comes.

MAX MOJITO WAS SAVED FROM EUTHANASIA IN MAY 2025. IT IS NOW AUGUST 2026 AND HE IS STILL WAITING.

More than a year. No forever home. No one has chosen Max.

Max Mojito was found wandering alone in Brooklyn and brought to the shelter as a stray by NYPD officers in February 2025. He had no idea where he was or what would happen to him. Eventually, Max found himself on the euthanasia list. His life was going to end in the shelter. We couldn’t let that happen. In May 2025, AmsterDog Rescue pulled Max from the euthanasia list and saved his life.

We thought saving him would be the hard part. We never imagined that more than a year later, we would still be begging someone to give him a home.

Max Mojito has done everything he possibly can to be ready for his person. Since his rescue, he has undergone a rigorous training program and is now highly trained (look at his video in the comments section ♥️ ). He is intelligent, treat motivated and eager to learn. He has an excellent training foundation that his future family can continue reinforcing.

Max Mojito isn’t asking for perfection. He needs someone willing to look beyond a photo, meet him, see how much work has been invested in him and give him the chance he has waited over a year to receive.

AmsterDog is a foster-based rescue. We do not have a facility. Every dog who remains in our care without a permanent placement means resources and foster opportunities remain tied up while other dogs are sitting on euthanasia lists desperately needing us.

We cannot keep watching Max Mojito get overlooked. We saved him in May 2025 because we believed there was a life waiting for him beyond the shelter. Where is that life? Where is his person?

Please don’t scroll past Max Mojito because you assume someone else will step up. For more than a year, everyone has assumed someone else would.

PLEASE FOSTER OR ADOPT MAX MOJITO. Please apply at AmsterDog.org/application. He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He is located in Connecticut📍Transportation within the northeast U.S. is available.

If you cannot take him home, please share him. Share him everywhere. Share him until the person Max has been waiting for finally sees him. We saved Max from euthanasia. Now we desperately need someone to finally give him the life we saved.

Beauty 💖 survived the euthanasia list but she needs her forever home

Beauty came dangerously close to losing her life. She was surrendered after her family told the shelter that their landlord did not allow pets. She went from living in a home to sitting behind shelter walls, confused and eventually placed on the euthanasia list.

We pleaded for Beauty repeatedly, but she received no applications. Not one person offered her a permanent home. A wonderful foster stepped up just in time and saved her life but fostering is temporary. Beauty urgently needs someone willing to give her the lasting security she has already lost once.

Beauty is 44 pounds, spayed, microchipped, and housebroken. She previously lived with another dog and can live with a canine companion again. She can also live with older children. Her compatibility with cats is unknown.

She is sweet, playful, and affectionate. She loves stuffed toys, attention, and curling up beside you for a long nap. She will even give you the most adorable puppy-dog eyes when she wants your attention. How can anyone look at that face and keep passing her by?

Beauty is located in NYC.

Beauty escaped the euthanasia list, but her rescue is not complete until she has a permanent home. Please do not let her continue to be overlooked. Apply to adopt Beauty by submitting an application at AmsterDog.org/application

Update: KARDI settles in with her new foster 🩷💕

Thank you so much to everyone who cared & shared Kardi when we were urgently seeking somewhere for her to go- you did it! A wonderful foster in upstate NY saw Kardi's desperate plea and knew she had to help this sweet girl who was down on her luck. With just hours to go before her temporary foster had to board a plane, we had an amazing transporter say yes on such short notice and off she went, just in time!🙌

Kardi may have had a bumpy road during the first couple weeks of her rescue, but we are so grateful so many people came together to make it possible. Her temporary foster, her new foster, those who advocated for her while she awaited euthanasia in the city shelter, those who sprung into action when her first placement fell through, her transporter - so many special people hard a part to play to rescue Kardi. Biggest thanks to her fosters: to her temporary foster for stepping up, caring for Kardi so completely, and making her growth removal surgery possible so quickly and to her new foster for welcoming Kardi with open arms and loving comfort when she needed it most.

Now that Kardi has captured all our hearts - let's find her a forever home ❤

Kardi is 7 years old and weighs 70 lbs. She is dog friendly and has a loving personality.

ADOPT KEKE 🐾
Keke is a huge bundle of love and personality packed into an adorable 37-pound body. This 11-month-old Cattle Dog mix has already been bounced between homes and the shelter, spending nearly a quarter of her young life without the stability every puppy deserves. After an adoption from the shelter lasted only three weeks, she was returned and found herself on the euthanasia list at the shelter.

Thankfully, an experienced foster stepped forward and we were able to pull her and save her life in July. Now that Keke is safe, we want her next move to be her last, to a family committed to loving her for the rest of her life.

Keke is affectionate, playful, smart, and full of energy. When her foster calls her, she comes running over with her entire body wiggling, eager to soak up every bit of attention. She loves pressing her paws against your arms and snuggling close while receiving back scratches.

This active girl is happiest when she is running around, playing fetch, splashing in her doggie pool, or entertaining herself with her toys. She carries them around, bats them with her paws, tosses them into the air, and races to catch them. She is also playful with familiar dogs.

As a young Cattle Dog mix, Keke needs an active, experienced adopter who understands intelligent herding breeds and will continue providing positive fear-guidance, structure, exercise, and consistency.

Keke was never given enough time or stability to learn what was expected of her. She did not fail anyone, she was simply a high-energy puppy who needed guidance and commitment. She has so much potential and is ready to become an incredible companion for someone willing to give her the chance she has always deserved.

Keke is located in NJ📍
Keke is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and ready to begin her forever life.

If you are interested in adopting sweet Keke, submit an application at AmsterDog.org/application, and share her story so her family can find her. ❤️
