NELLY NEEDS A PLACEMENT BY SATURDAY OCTOBER 17, 2026 BY 12PM: Hello, my name is Nelly. : My animal id is . I am a desexed male gray tabby at the Queens Animal Care Center . The shelter thinks I am about 6 years 2 months 2 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a aco - owner surrender on 7/17/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person health - medical. Nelly is on the at-risk list due to behavior. He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. Due to his stress levels, it is in his best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. He would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give him plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 8/17/2026, with the surrender reason stated as animal behavior - aggressive towards people.
Sorry, this pet is for new hope partners only. Milo is on the At Risk list due to behavior. He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display challenging behavior during interactions. He is extremely intelligent and high energy, and needs to expend energy constructively with interactive play sessions 3-4X/day. In addition to playtime, this cat would also benefit from mental exercise from activities such as puzzle toys/games, lick mats, or clicker training. Without providing activity for his mind and body, the cat may react with rough play, potentially resulting in bite/scratch incidents. It is in his best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display challenging behavior during interactions. I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 8/1/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance - moving.
Sorry, this pet is for new hope partners only. Rex has been placed on the at risk list due to not thriving in care and displaying distance-increasing behaviors. Since his stay at the Care Center, he has not tolerated any form of handling. He also has not been receptive to any form of interaction or enrichment. He will growl, hiss, lunge, swat and does not leave his den. Over time, Rex has been quicker to escalate to these behaviors. Given his fearful behavior and inability to have successful interactions, it is in his best interest to be moved out of the kennel environment as quickly as possible. Rex would benefit from placement in a home with an adopter who is experienced in supporting fearful cats. Medically, he has gingivitis. He needs placement in a low stress home with long term management of his condition by a local veterinarian. SABRINA NEEDS A PLACEMENT BY SATURDAY OCTOBER 10, 2026 BY 12PM: Sabrina Will Be Euthanized In The Following Situations: If Her Health Declines And Or No Placement Is Found! Hello, my name is Sabrina. : My animal id is . I am a female tabby at the Queens Animal Care Center . The shelter thinks I am about 2 years old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 10/2/2026. Sabrina is on the at risk list for medical reasons. Sabrina has been diagnosed with kidney failure and severe anemia; an acute kidney injury (ie. toxin, kidney infection, other) is suspected. Her bloodwork shows severe elevations in her kidney values as well as a severe anemia; however, Sabrina has clinically improved with supportive care and is eating small amounts and is overall brighter than she was at intake. She will need continued hospitalization with placement and her long-term prognosis is guarded at this time pending continued response to treatment. Behaviorally, Sabrina is fearful, but is warming up. Today she began leaning into petting and purring after warming. Observed Behavior - Nervous but tolerant, leans into pets, allowed all tasks and handling with some vocalization
