A microchip is a tiny device, about the size of a grain of rice, that provides permanent identification for your pet. Unlike collars and tags, a microchip can't fall off or be removed.

☀️🐾 SUMMER PET SAFETY REMINDER 🐾☀️

As temperatures rise, our furry friends are at greater risk for heat-related illness. Knowing the signs of overheating can save a life!

🚨 Signs of Heatstroke:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Bright red gums
• Lethargy or weakness
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Collapse or difficulty standing

❗Seek emergency veterinary care immediately if your pet is struggling to breathe, becomes unresponsive, collapses, or shows severe signs of overheating.

🐶🐱 Cooling Tips:
✅ Walk pets during early morning or evening hours
✅ Provide plenty of fresh, cool water
✅ Offer shade whenever outdoors
✅ Use cooling mats or damp towels
✅ Never leave pets in parked vehicles

🔥 HOT PAVEMENT TEST 🔥
"If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws."

Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If you can't comfortably hold it there, your pet's paws can be burned.

💧 Hydration Hacks:
• Add ice cubes to water bowls
• Try a pet fountain
• Freeze low-sodium broth into ice treats
• Add water to kibble
• Offer pet-safe fruits with high water content, like watermelon (seedless) or cucumber

Memorial Day Closure Notice

In honor of Memorial Day, Beachwood Animal Clinic will be closed on Monday, May 25th as we take time to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. ❤️🤍💙

We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful holiday with family, friends, and furry loved ones. 🐾
