From the SOS Adoption Team: This is the worst year in the history of the homeless pet explosion. We are short on funds, short on volunteers, short on resources. Unlike some dog rescues cat rescues do not receive city, town, state or county funding to do what we do to save kitties. It all comes from adoption donations, fundraising (when we can), and more often? Our own pockets as we try to provide love, wet food, dry food, litter, deworming medications, flea prevention meds or treatment, all that the sweet souls in our Rescue need to survive, thrive and be ready for adoption.

We are all volunteers. We all have full-time responsibilities aside from saving fluffy, furry kitties and cats.

We are all DOING OUR VERY BEST. If we don't return a text, email or Messenger message immediately? We are busy caring for kitties, giving food, cleaning litter boxes, coordinating with the community to get kitties save from often dangerous situations.

There is no such thing as immediate responses to emails, phone calls, texts, Messenger messages, unless it is a true emergency.

Please understand we are in the midst of the worst homeless pet epidemic in history. Next year will undoubtedly be harder.

Please understand? We love our adopters. We appreciate & love every single foster family and volunteers, without whom SOS Cat Rescue would close its doors.

We need support. Recently there have been late night messages demanding we do things at the end of an exhausting day when we need to sit for a few minutes, take a breath, and plan for the next day. Or? Actually, get some rest.

Many of us are putting in 14, 16 or more hour days (including our work, school, caring for family members, preparing meals for families or kitties, and then responding to dozens of texts, phone calls and messages.)

PLEASE be patient. We can't drop everything to respond to a request to answer questions outside of our process.

We set aside an hour for each adopter in Google Chat where questions can all be answered at once. Expecting someone to stop at 9:30 in the evening to make a phone call when there is a Google Meet scheduled for the following day? Then not cancelling till the interview time is almost over? Honestly. This is simply one example of people expecting an immediate response in the midst of a crisis, then responding negatively when it doesn't happen. From my (Dee) experience? More people expect everything to be instant, NOW, their way or no way, almost instant. There is little in rescue in this crisis, that is instant on the adoption side.

Our new partner, AdopterPassport.com is making our application process so much easier & faster (when all the information is added. Including current pets veterinary records.) Days instead of weeks as it was when I did it all by myself. With their help? More kitties are going home sooner.

There is not instant anything in Rescue at the moment. Instead of picking a rescue apart? Or individual rescuers too, for thst matter? Maybe focus on how many lives we are saving, how many happy families exist now with a new furry member full of love, curiosity, fun and bringing joy. No one is ignoring anyone on purpose.

There are only so many hours in a day. If we can't get enough rest? Or time to eat? Or attend the needs of our own family members, we can't continue this vital work.

Our kitties are worth waiting for as thousands of happy SOS adopting families over the years can attest too. I encourage folks to join in. Sign up. Volunteer. Transport. FOSTER!!!!

We have less than half the fosters we had two years ago. GET INVOLVED. Fundraise. Donate the cost of a fancy coffee to a local rescue. Send some food. Or toys. Even every six months will save lives. If you are in Texas? FOSTER!

Instead of saying: 'someone help?' BE SOMEONE who helps. Our loyal and committed fosters and volunteers are tired. We KNOW things are tough for so many of us.

To those who have donated 7 bottles of Goat's milk Kittle Milk Replacer to replace all that we had to throw out due to the recall; four cases of Royal Canin Mom/babycat and 3 bags of kibble? Nutrical x 3; and a loyal supporter who sends five cases of wet food every single month? (there are people I am forgetting, I apologize. 4:30 am came early this morning).

My heart is endlessly grateful and appreciative. As are our fosters, & most of all our kitties!

We can't do it without you. This page reaches 100,000+ views a month.

Let's assume and understand that EVERYONE here at SOS Cat Rescue is doing their best. We are not trying to make someone else's life hard by not providing immediate gratification. All of us are human, and all of us love our kitties (fosters & personal)

Lets be a Village!

Two of three future SOS Comfort Kitties pic in comments.

I realize we are asking for more help than usual this year.

If we didn't truly need it, and could do it on our own, ya'all who know me, we would.

Due to the Breeders Edge recall, and slow refunding process because of the massive scope of this recall, for our supply we REALLY need more kitten milk, Tomlinson kitten nutrical, and babycat wet & dry.

This is the formula we are using. "Under the Weather Kitten Milk Replacer."

If you're able to help? Also Royal Canin mom & babycat wet & dry?

We have 2 cases & one bag left.

This food gives our tinies the best chance to grow healthy & strong. Our fosters give up hours of sleep, waking every 2 hrs, then every three to feed them. With all the love, care & sleepless nights they invest, we do all we can to help them grow strong.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Meet Max! A Maine C**n mix boy ready for his family.

Look at those incredible whiskers? The fluff in the ears!!!

Max is neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV FIV and Heartworm, chipped with a tortie attitude in a black & white body.

Full of energy, curiosity, playful and very mischievous i joked about calling him Jumping Jack Flash for his habit of jumping out at me at full speed when ever he saw me. Or? Maybe it was the food? I prefer to think it was me.

Mad Max, as in whirling dervish, hopping, rarely sleeping, he does well with noise, our dog, noise from a blaring television (so my beloved can hear, i have cotton in mine). 😜

If you are ready for kitten chaos, Max is your guy. Currently being fostered by our wonderful Sheri Deterling in Dallas.

San Antonio, TX.

Transport Available to most of the United States

This gentle girl is Molly May, a Seal Point Siamese mix who has survived being abandoned as a tiny kitten in the hot Texas summer in a south TX border town. Her sweet siblings did not make it, as hard as we tried.

Molly May needs a family who will see the gorgeous Seal Point-to-be with a sparking personality that is growing inside her.

If a kitten who needs you at least as much as you need them touches you, she's your girl.

She is curious, gentle, full of purring and cuddles. Molly May needs a central Texas family to cherish & help her continue to feel loved & safe.

Once she has settled in, she can be spayed, receive her additional vaccines, and be microchipped. She is combo negative for FeLV FIV and Heartworm.

Molly May is ready to go foster to adopt to a preapproved SOS adopting family.

She will sleep on you for as long as you allow.

Please reach out to Dee. If you are interested in adopting her? Please go to soscatrescue.org, click adopt for our new, faster, application through our incredible partner, Adopter Passport.

Having any records showing up to date vaccines, etc. Will help speed things along.

Tommy & his stunning sister, Anna, were saved from a South Texas high kill shelter. It took them a little while to learn that many people are loving & full of cuddles, and the source of kitty treats.

Both are now ready for adoption. Spayed, neutered, combo negative for FeLV FIV and Heartworm, with a microchip.

Tommy is super loving & snuggly. Anna, a stunning dilute Calico Maine C**n mix, warms up fast & loves to sleep on her person & her brother, chase balls, & play.

Tommy is more curious, more adventurous, and his sister's protector.

They would so love to be adopted together.

Can you make that happen? We truly want them to stay together.

They are in the DFW area & ready to go home!

If you're an approved SOS Adopter? Please reach out to Dee.

If you're ready interested? Go to soscatrescue.org, click on adopt & complete the new faster application through our partner, AdopterPassport.com

It helps to have your current pets records showing they are fixed & up to date on vaccines.
