We need volunteers who can care for these special pups while their current foster is out of town from 8/30-9/13! Just 14 days!
Pokey and Sport need medicine given once or twice per day so we need a special foster who can look after them. They are currently in New Braunfels.

Trails End Rescue needs temporary Foster Families for these four sweet pups while our director is out of town for 2 weeks. Sport and Pocahantas need medicine administered every day and might require a little extra attention. We are hoping to find a separate foster for each of them. Ariel & Tiana are up to date on the shots and super healthy. You can foster one or both!

I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support over the past weeks. It takes a village and I want to thank each of you personally. As you may have heard, we lost all three of the newborns. It was heartbreaking, but each puppy had a dedicated loving person who went nights without sleep to try to keep them alive. But the hits keep coming and just when you think you can't be shocked any more, in comes Lucky!
Please consider fostering one of our older dogs. Many are potty trained, and kid friendly! Take a look on our website. If you cant foster, please consider donating. Our vet bills are through the roof!

Yesterday, we received a call from a Trail’s End adopter mom. She had almost hit a puppy who suddenly dashed into a country road. The little guy looked to be in pretty bad shape.

This poor baby is maybe 8 weeks old and has a horrible “old” scar running down his back from a previous injury. It looks like he was scalped, and there may be damage to his spine. The hair is just now starting to grow back. He was covered in fleas and ticks, has a UTI, worms and parasites, and even has a chunk missing from his ear.

We got the poor baby to safety. He is incredibly sweet, but he’s scared to be alone. He’ll be seeing the vet this week.

But then the story got even worse.

As she was driving past the area later, something caught her eye in the exact spot where she had found the puppy. She stopped and saw a nasty, rusty, dirty kennel hidden in the brush.
Someone had brought this tiny puppy there in the kennel, opened the door, and simply drove away. 💔

We’re calling him Lucky. And he truly is lucky—because someone saw him, stopped, cared enough to help, and made sure he didn’t face this alone.

Thank God for our wonderful Trail’s End Family and all the kind people who are saving dogs every single day. ❤️ Without people willing to stop, help, foster, adopt, donate, transport, and simply care, so many of these babies would never get a second chance.

Lucky’s life is going to be very different from here on out. He is safe. He is loved. And his story is just beginning. 🐾❤️

As Our Dear Followers know, this has been a tough week for Trails' End. None of the 3 newborn pups were able to survive. We received 2 very ill puppies over the last 2 days. Both came in near death. We are closely monitoring and praying for them. But we keep plowing ahead!
ADOPTION EVENT TOMORROW 's Tavern (formerly The Villa) from 1-5! WE will have some sweet puppies and some really great adult dogs ready to meet their new BEST FRIENDS!

I want to thank everyone who has reached out to Trails End Rescue over the past 2 days. We are humbled by your concern and generosity for the newborn pups. This morning multiple crises emerged from several different places, creating the perfect storm of emergencies. We are grateful for our friends and colleagues in rescue and our amazing volunteers. I apologize I was not able to respond to everyone but will be reaching out with our thanks over the next few days.
PUPPY UPDATE:
The smallest puppy ( the little black pup) went yesterday with a volunteer who was with her all night. This morning we were very encouraged that she was doing better. Then, she suddenly passed. Her heart stopped beating.
The largest, grey and white seemed to be nursing on the mom yesterday so our behaviorist was hoping mom could handle one so we left him with mom. I stayed up with the other baby, black and white. This morning they were both OK but not great& I was going to start feeding the grey one & keep feeding the b&w. Then unexpected crisis. Our wonderful volunteers got the dehydrated babies to vet where they are being treated. If they survive, I will need 2 very experienced bottle feeders who know what to look for, understanding these guys may not make it through a second night. I have reached out to some of you who have offered who have the knowledge and background to nurse these fragile babies. But I have no commitments yet.
