Zena had her babies this evening, they are a little early but by the grace of god they are all alive and Zena is alive and everyone is doing good at this moment in time🫶🏻
We can only hope that this trend continues and that they thrive🙌🏻

Bottle feeding puppies isn’t for the weak!🍼
At first it doesn’t sound that hard but getting them latched, making sure they get an appropriate amount, and making sure they don’t aspirate while drinking is a whole different ball game!

I’ve been supplementing Autumn’s six babies every day due to her milk not coming in as it normally does.(suspecting the traumatic whelp is what hurt it)

Thankfully with a little veterinary help, it seems the medication is helping to bring her supply in so I’ll be starting to lower how many times I feed per day and hopefully by the end of this weekend they’ll be gaining solely on mom🙌🏻
Autumn is doing so great with all of them though and is a wonderful mom per the usual!🥹

📢📢📢Shoutout to THE BEST VETERINARIAN around, thank you for taking the best care of my baby and catching this before it’s too late. Dr. Jones and the staff at Apollo Veterinary spoiled Zena with all the love and care while she got her blood transfusion🥹

Yesterday I took Zena in for her X-ray and an exam because she was acting sluggish and just like this pregnancy was dragging her down…

Little did I know, her body was in fight mode. There’s a bunch of medical mumbo jumbo but basically her body developed antibodies to pregnancies and now thinks this pregnancy is foreign and her body is fighting against it. Her red blood cell count was detrimentally low to the point that she was in danger.

So she spent yesterday getting a blood transfusion and us focusing on saving Zena. The babies status of life is unknown at the moment but we have to get Zena better.🥺 she’s due in the next week so prayers are appreciated that everything goes okay. Once Zena is healed, we will get her fixed and she will live her best life as a retired momma!🫶🏻
