Carolina Boxer Rescue Carolina Boxer Rescue is a volunteer run, 501(c)3 non-profit boxer rescue organization We place a particular emphasis on rescuing very old and very sick boxers.

Our mission is to rescue, medically rehabilitate, and re-home unwanted and abandoned Boxers. We strive to inform the communities we serve about the realities of pet ownership, promote spaying/neutering, and encourage responsible care. We place our boxers in permanent homes, following a thorough adoption process that includes reference checks and home visits. Boxers in our care are spayed or neuter

Happy Tails Tuesday!!

Rawley has definitely figured out that he is home! He has learned to sit when told. We are working on “go to your bed.” But even better than that, when asked if he is hungry, Rawley does this hysterical dance where he bounces around in a circle! It is beyond cute and makes me laugh at every meal! His personality is really blossoming more and more!
Rawley is very protective of “his territory” and me, not negatively, but more of a loyal attachment. Since I live alone, I don’t mind this at all.

He and Pixie love being outside now since the temps are so temperate. They spend 3-4 hours out in the yard every afternoon (as long as it’s not hot). They love sleeping on the deck as well. When it’s too warm, I set the microwave timer for 10 minutes and make them come in.

I need to check the contract again, but I think this is the last monthly report required. Again, I am beyond grateful to CBR as Rawley is such a wonderful gift and addition to my household!

Happy Tails Tuesday!!

Gunner continues to do well. We love our little man! He is a champ at getting into his kennel on the mornings I work. We are working on walking on lead. He does well and loves walking next to his sister Phoebe. She helps him be brave. He is growing so much. He is getting taller and longer and gaining weight. Happy Tails Tuesday!!

Even though I don't have a required update today (next one is May 5th), I just wanted to let you know some fun news. Since I got rid of my couch when I moved and have been without one for a while, the new couch and two swivel glider chairs came in. Roman seems to love the chairs and couch.....sometimes too much 😂🙂‍↔️ with occasionally trying to chew on them. However, the fun part is that the glider chairs help to relax him in my lap almost like a baby likes to be rocked. It was amazing the first time it happened. He fell asleep.

And for the second fun bit of news.... I have a fairly large fenced area for him and realized with some of the "stuff" my parents had, I started putting together some homemade agility stations. This morning, after only about 3 tries with treat encouragement, he jumped over the jumping station. I was so excited. He is such a smart boy!

Courtney, I have gathered a couple of other names for trainers and plan to decide in the next week or so. Also hope to get a few minutes to call you and chat this week.

The picture I have attached of him sleeping in one of the glider chairs was taken yesterday after we came inside from being out in the yard (fenced) all afternoon.

Happy Tails Tuesday!!

Week 6 update. Arti is growing like a w**d and making friends with everyone she’s sees, dogs, people, a box turtle she found in the yard. But children seem to be her favorite so far. She is full of energy and has been loving exploring new places.

Happy Tails Tuesday!!

We adopted Fletcher last week and have decided to name him Ghost. He's doing well. He and my other dog, Pancake, are getting along well. Sometimes they need to be separated because they're getting a bit rowdy. I think Pancake wants a break sometimes, and because he's deaf he can't hear her tell him, so I just give them a short break and then they're fine. He's also getting along well with my 8 year old daughter, Astrid. He's pretty good on the leash, but very interested in every dog, person, animal, etc. We're working on training, but obviously his being deaf is an extra challenge, so it may take a bit.

Happy Tails Tuesday!!

I wanted to check in with a Cloud (now Lucy) update. She has been with us 4 months now, but it feels like she's always been a part of our family. She is the biggest good ball and love bug. She has been loving the warm weather and being outside. We are forever grateful to CBR for bringing us together. We couldn't love her any more.
