We (me) and the board members are a small group of volunteers dedicated to saving animals from high kill situations like at Gaston AC or where the need is located. We are located in Mecklenburg County NC area. All of our animals are fully vetted, cared for and reside in foster homes or with owner until they are adopted.. These cats/kittens some dogs that are in danger of being put down are not "problem" animals they aren't aggressive. They were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people. Many of these cats, kittens and some dogs were homeless, abandoned from lack of funds in a family or moving situations. General Information

URGENT LAST DAY IS WEDNESDAY 4/22/26
Meet Rex a three-year-old blue bully mix this sweet boy is rescue only due to a bite. He was protecting his home.
He is 72 pounds. He is heartworm positive but has already started a slow kill treatment at the shelter for more information. You can call the Shelter or you can message us. If you are interested in fostering please let us know please re-below. Staff said he is such a sweet, sweet boy. STAFF FAVORITE

Previous Bite

Rex is one of those dogs you don’t forget. Unfortunately, while trying to protect his home, Rex was involved in an incident that resulted in a bite. Because of this, he is now Rescue-Only. This isn’t a punishment, it’s to ensure that a knowledgeable rescue can match him with a home that truly understands his personality and sets him up for success.

And oh, what a personality he has…

Rex is a staff favorite for a reason. He’s bursting with energy, absolutely LOVES affection, and firmly believes he should be the center of attention at all times He listens well, is highly treat-motivated, and brings that goofy, “oversized toddler” energy that keeps everyone smiling.
