About the Dogo Argentino

The Dogo Argentino is a strong, athletic, and intelligent breed originally developed in Argentina for hunting. They are known for being loyal, affectionate, confident, and very devoted to their people. Despite their powerful appearance, many Dogos are huge cuddle bugs and love being close to their humans.

Dogos are high-energy dogs and need plenty of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. They are intelligent and trainable but can also be strong-willed, so consistent training and positive reinforcement are important.

Because they were bred for hunting, some Dogos can have a strong prey drive and may not be compatible with cats or small animals. They can also be selective with other dogs, especially as they mature, so proper introductions and continued socialization are important.

They can make wonderful family companions when placed with the right people. Their size and strength mean they need an owner who is prepared to continue training and provide structure as they grow.

In short: big, strong, energetic, incredibly loyal, and often total love bugs!
