DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO WORK ON A REAL CATTLE DRIVE??
We're still taking applications for our Cattle Drive on Oct 23-24th
Pushing cow/calf pairs through woods, pastures and fields to the weaning pen. Then driving the cows back.
Schedule:
Friday, October 23rd:
**3:00 PM - MANDATORY STOCKMANSHIP CLINIC... We'll spend a couple hours working on Stockmanship principles and how to apply them in a drive. If time allows after, roping lessons for interested participants.
Meal and conversation to follow.
Saturday, October 24th:
**8:00 AM - Trot out to cattle pastures where we will practice driving and moving cattle. (Including the longhorns below!)
**10:00 AM - Gather cow/calf pairs and begin the drive to the weaning pen. Once there, sort calves off cows.
**Break for lunch
**Bunch the cows and drive them all the way back to the pastures.
Night meal, campfire and story telling that night.
****This is NOT a practice pen in a controlled setting. This is the real thing. A job that needs doing. ****
If you can't be there before 3:00 pm on Fri, do not apply, the clinic portion is mandatory.
We will be SELECTING FROM THE APPLICATIONS, those who will participate. Applying does not mean you are selected. You must have Stockmanship skills or have had some clinic experience to be considered.
See the flyer on our page for contact info to apply!
