New Graduate!
Bohdi has completed the 2.5 week Premiere Puppy Stay & Train Program! We added in ecollar training with his program since his owner had started it with him so his program looked slightly different than the regular Premiere Puppy Program. This boy made so much progress it was amazing. Every program looks different with each dog and Bohdi was a quick learner for being so young. I'm very excited to hear about his progress as he heads home and works with his owner!

New Graduate!!
Ripley has completed the 3 week Elite Stay & Train Program today! This girl was so excited to see her owner and kiddos! It was a little distracting for her during the go home session but overall this girl worked through it and did well for her owner while the kiddos played at the park. I'm very excited to check in and see how this girl is doing back home after a couple weeks!

Here are the reasons I, as a professional dog trainer, will never go to the dog park:

1. I don't know the other dogs
2. I don't know if the other dog owners have control over their dogs
3. Most people can't read their dogs body language
4. Health & safety of my dogs

Most dogs in the dog parks get over stimulated which then turns them into an anxious, possibly aggressive or reactive dog. Most dogs come back with bad behavior or learn bad behavior there because they get over stimulated. It does not socialize dogs to other dogs and people, it puts them in an uncomfortable over stimulated position where they have to fend for themselves.

If you want to socialize your dog, take them to a slightly busy walking path or park and sit on a bench and watch people and dogs go by. Have them sit or lay down around other dogs that are on leash with people you know and allow the dogs to exist together instead of letting them invade each other's personal space immediately.

Happy 4th of July!
Stay safe this weekend and make sure to take precautions with your pups as not all like the loud noise of fireworks and many tend to go missing this time of year because of it!

•Use a leash that they can't slip out of and use at all times while outside (you never know when a firework may go off)
•Keep them indoors and in their crate to reduce destruction and anxiety (this is their safe space)
•Don't force them to be by loud noises, this will only break trust and create more fear or anxiety
•Be cautious to not overstimulate them and give them breaks from people and big crowds (this is when behavioral issues arise and you may see behaviors you've never seen before)

Have a great weekend!
